Making my way to the city centre was an easy task and what’s waiting for me was a scrumptious spread of food that inspired from grandma’s kitchen. Yes, I was invited to taste the spread of hard work prepared by a line of chefs at JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur for this coming Ramadhan.
That night the poolside at 6th floor was painted with bright lights filled with a long row of food stall. To enrich the night the sound of “kompang” was put into play, great food, fabulous atmosphere.
My first stop was of course the barbeque pit where a whole grilled lamb was hosted. Without any thoughts, I requested a nice cute and was recommended the mid portion of the lamb as was told to be moist and tender. The verdict was truly fantastic, yes it was moist and tender.
Grabbing a few sticks of satay is a must as I totally fall for their juicy beef ones, what’s more dipping into their dense satay an be just terrific. Moving onto the mains I just love their “daging salai masak lemak” grilled beef cooked in turmeric coconut milk was totally a mesmerizing one. Next to it was a pot of prawn sambal cooked with stinking beans, very welcoming with a spoon of white rice.
My favourite was their “paru goring berlada” fried slice lung with chilli which was done slightly crisp and having a soft biting is a must for me. At grandma’s kitchen I found the patin fish cooked in coconut milk tasted deliciously. For this coming the JW Marriott will feature 138 different delicious Malay dishes inspired from grandma’s kitchen to satisfy its guests
As for their dessert I just love their glutinous rice cooked with palm sugar and array of delicious traditional Malay dessert was put on highlight.
