Well I got a different erception on this little chicky Steamed Shanghainese Dumplings, always make sure to have the steaming warm, avoid served cold as the sking then to be dry and the soup filling the to be cold and sticky. Here at Di Wei, it was delicious as I had them while its warm and fresh. The skin was thin and soft. I like the way it had been hand wrapped. Works of Art.
A very authentic taste of Bao filling that I tasted, great soft in texture and not too large to comsumed the Steamed Bun with Honey Barbeque Pork, just the right size. Sweet carameliwd pork pieces which tempted me like a devlish foodie. I had two + one!
NOW now this one is irresistable! Di Wei Steamed Mini Custard Bun with Salted Egg Yolk . It comes in a green coated bun with such a surprise and pleasant oozing melted warm custard. I just love the texture the bun and the custard. Definitely my favourite! I will definitely be eating as many as I can!
A La Carte :
Having to taste the a la carte was such a previlige thing to work on and I tasted this delicious Chilled Japanese Bean Curd with Tobiko and Oyster Sauce . The Fried Honshimeji Mushroom with Fungus n Chinese Rice Wine was such a pleasant dish, full of simplicity and yet filled with flavours of mushroom. I liked it light and hassle free. Walking my chopstick was kept in play for this dish!
I had my own portion of this Deep Fried Chicken served with Mustard Sauce. Kept in golden brown with well marinated flavour tah jived so well with the mstard sauce. I felt like preaching to it. It was just delicious to my liking. Forking int with a knife was the put into play. Nice.
Crunchy and crisp was keep plesantly with this next dish Di Mei Deep Fried Prawns with Cheese, Salt and Pepper with unique taste and pleasure was just assisting my dining moment.Bites after bites without any frills. it was really good, full of elegance!
Authenic and pleasureable unique that evening was this Stir Fried Shanghai Glutinous Rice Cakes with Shredded Pork and Preserved Vegetables . The Shanghai glutinous rice cakes had a great texture and awesome bite. It just thrilled me with such a surprise.
I like haiving induging a good bowl od soup and here in Di Mei, it got to tast their Double Boiled Chicken Fresh Ginseng Soup with Spring Chicken Stuffed with Glutinous Rice. Not too bad for my liking but I would love it with a stronger srength of ginseng taste. overall it was a good double boiled chicken soup, tasy and juicy sweet.
To end the evening, we had a try on the Braised Abalone with Bean Curd in Pumpkin Gravy . I found the beancurd was handmad and taste different from the ones in the market. It had much stronger flavour in it while pair well with the sliced abalone.
