Home Cooking Stir Fried Sweet Potato Leaves

Sweet Potato

Just love to use sweet potato leaves for a short and fast stir fry dish. It truly complete a fabulous meal in no time. I saw I had a bottle of chili oil in the fridge that I got from the Starhill Culinary Studio and decided to add it into my stir frying. I like the redness in the oil and it worked brilliant to light up the dish in no time. Definitely a must try dish and it is inexpensive at all.

My weekend dishing up

I just love cooking and haven’t been doing enough, Since I am gearing for it might as well that I share it with you. My first weekend recipe that I had tried out is this deep fried petite pomfret and to be eaten with this delicious tangy and hot fresh Thai green chilli sauce. It is a simple dish and came within my budget with was less than RM10 (USD2.50). This petite pomfret is truly abundance here in the night market, wet market and even at any supermarket and what’s more, it is very affordable. I had my chilli sauce prepared in advance and kept them in the bottle for few days in the fridge. While I attacked the fish just before dinner.

Nameless Noodles Shop at Ming Heang Hui Jalan Cheras

DSC_0188
The Nameless Noodle Signboard

Tucked along a busy street of Jalan Cheras near the junction of the PGRM building we found the nameless Hokkien Noodle stall located at Ming Heang Hui Coffee Shop. It was an after event at PGRM that got us hunting for this midnight supper just across the road. Stood right at a corner in a quiet lane came the blasting sound of gas furnace fuming with awesome pungent smell of “wok hei”. The place itself was totally crowded at that moment of our arrival of this old boys school coffee shop and people was eyeing for empty table just like a flock of deadly hunting vulchers.

It had such a great golden tanned, yes it was perfectly roasted with a crisp skin. Yes it was tuly a unique way of presentinmg, what more we ate in a different way. A pair of scissor was put into play to carve the chicken. Yet, Master Chef Paul Lee kept had more surprise juices flowing out. It was a lemon roasted chicken and it was really delicious. “It must an Italian influence roasting”, I told myself. It was such a display dish. Summer Park Restaurant Bukit Tinggi Bentong

Restaurant Summer Park Beancurd Sandwich
Sandwich Beancurd

Heading to Bukit Tinggi just after the Genting Highland Tunnel can be such an exciting thing to do. Well we had a vegetable farming visit at the hills of Bukit Tinggi. It was truly specteclar, riding over the bumpy and muddy hill. Just like riding a wild horse, on the back of the rustice jeep. Walking up those hilly cultivated land can be such a challenge especially for me having such a overly build body. “I must start exercising more frequent from now on”, I fried my little tiny brain.

I am truly glad that I did not need to pick which restaurant to have lunch as along one road at Bukit Tinggi you can just see a sea of restaurants lining up to serve your hunger. Our host did the pick! The Summer Park Restaurant located on the far left of the main road as you turn into the little town.

Belanga at The Empire Shopping Gallery

The Empire Shopping Gallery located at Subang Jaya was my next stop and I was to meet up with Zarina and her husband for a meal. Belanga was picked as we wanted to try out the Kelantanese cuisine. The place was simple and decorated with sophisticated “belanga” or cooking pots made out of clay. The space was also filled a marching of beautiful white painted chairs and the walls were filled with dark brown wooden paneling and luxurious crafted ‘songket”. They were so noticeable and were truly gorgeous.

This time I was back at Dynasty to enjoy the creation of Master Chef Tan Kim Weng who is well known for his seafood creations. Having to bite into any of his creation will definitely get you hook for more and it did happen to me again this time. My journey of indulging his seven course meal was truly excellent.
