Mo.Cheeks the Japanese Delicacy

A week back I was invited to try out an authentic Japanese delicacy pasteries Mochi or MO.Cheeks at Akachan No Hoppe, Mid Valley Megamall. Akachan No Hoppe here means baby cheeks and I was told that these Mo.Cheeks are careful make from hand selected of azuki beans. paste and glutinous rice. I like the tenderness of the mochi texture especially the one’s that came with black sesame flavour, it was robust and had a fabulous earthen aroma. So was their Edamame fillings that had a fabulous grounded chunky texture and had a real nice aroma that referred to “Zunda” in Japanese.

At recent I was invited to try out my hand on making the mooncake and watch how chefs baking them. It was truly exciting as I get to watch and finger into making a huge big mooncake at TAO InterContinental Kuala Lumpur while proceed to OneSixFive for afternoon tea and indulging the mooncakes. It was just a fabulous experience.

That place for lunch and definitely my eyes will set upon their fine crafted dim sum. So when I arrived we dived into ordering their spread of dim sum.

Recently I attended a marvellous occasion, a wine-pairing dinner presented by the Asia Pacific Brand Ambassador for “The Rolland Collection”, Mr.Dider Richer. “The Rolland Collection” is a range of Bordeaux wines that originated from Rolland’s hometown of Pomeral. Danny Rolland and Michel Rolland both is a world renowned oenologists who have put their passion and experience in Oenology. Through the years, the couple has added several French and International wines to their collection. During their travels they’ve also discovered wines from Argentina, South Africe and Spain, which have since become part of this exquisite wine collection.

The Chocolate Affair with Pastry Pro and Felchin

Upon receiving an invitation from Ning Geng, we found ourselves indulging a spectecular chocolate infused fine dining at the Chocolate Appreciation and Dinner, Manhattan V Berjaya Times Square hosted by Pastry Pro and Felchin. With the great initiative of Ning Geng, the star chefs on that night were Chef Jochen who was coordinating the menu while Chef Anil from Felchlin, Switzerland was coordinating the dessert and they were joined by a group of dedicated chefs and students of Berjaya Culinary Schooll.

Berbuka Puasa at Golden Palm Tree

It was a fasting break (berbuka puasa) invitation to dine with my friends that I attended recently at the Golden Palm Tree Villa & Spa located at Sepang Goldcoast. It was a MAL-INDO Ramadan Food Festival and we dine just above the ocean at the Golden Palm Tree Lounge facing the luxurious swimming pool set across the sea. It was a breath taking view even the desserts caught my first attention.

Hey! I am back! yes I had been away and had spend a great valuable time in Taiwan. Well it was a holiday and see see for me and I took my mum with me too. It was an explosive to visit, lovely Taiwan and enjoyed the variation of awesome goodness of Taiwan cuisine.

Now I am back with full of energy and loads of work to be done! I know I had been rather quiet and had been behind the scene relaxing lol! Anyway, there will be some changes and soon really be implemented, more new baking class and I will be showcasing more varaition of cakes and recipes here on www.bigboysoven.com, meaning you will see more of me! This was recent, I was invited to a celebration of Thai food which highly recommended by SuperWilson located at Taman Segar Cheras, the restaurant called Ahroy Thai Cuisine. It was a get together to celebrate SupwerWilson parent’s anniversary and also Sid’s birthday! On that night we had a great time indulging the spread of food ordered by SuperWilson’s Dad that I would called The Royal Thai Cuisine of AhRoy! It was one of the most refine Thai food in KL that I ever had and was at an affordable price, definetly a must try restaurant if you craving for Thai cuisine.

Baking at Anna’s Culinary Singapore

Last night I had a great night out with the group of foodies on food indulging at the Tropicana mall, just nearby my residence. It was truly awesome as we had BBQ and dessert from RUI’s too (the Opera was awesome, so were the white chocolate cheese cake)! I will let you know the details late on the coming post.

Well, about a month or so I was in Singapore, . . . . yup I was doing my baking tour and I was at Ann’s Culinary. I had a two days non-stop baking, back to back session. It was a real demanding classes which I truly enjoyed them as it was really challenging and it fabulous.
