Its truly fun to take part in the tossing exercise during every dinner which happens during the the weeks of Chinese New Year. This time round I got the pleasure to stop at Ee Chinese Cuisine located in Eastin Hotel Petalng Jaya for a feast of Yee Sang. I felt so blessed this year upon recieving quite a few invitation. I just love the new look of Ee Chinese Cuisine, very modern interior and yet able to retain the comfort of Chinese chic atmosphere.

This round my task was to visit and sample the food specially prepared at the Golden Sun Seafood Restaurant tucked away at the far end corner main road of Jalan Kuchai Lama. It is not too difficult to locate. Having my car parked is not too difficult either. The restaurant was located on the first floor of the building.

I was told that people born in the year of the Rabbit under the Chinese Zodiac are admired, trusted and are often financially lucky, defintely an awesome news. Family gathering over dinner is a must during the Lunar New Year. Here at Si Chuan Doi Hua Restaraunt, Chinese Chef Chew Chee Kuong and Sichuan Chef Wong Yunghai bring blessings and prosperity to the table with lavish feasts of auspicious set menus with signicant symbolic dishes and colourful Yee Sang with good fortune and luck. What was truly delighted was I got to indulge them, it was the most inspired Sichuan dining experience.

He is from Norway, she is from Kuala Lumpur, they meet while schooling in Australia and now they got together and blessed with Wedding Bells! That evening was so beautiful and so amazingly gorgeous. It was truly a NORWAY, MALAYSIA, AUSTRALIA & SINGAPORE CONNECTION.

It was Li Ling who called me from Singapore on wanting myself personally to sculpture her wedding cake. It was great, she wanted simple yet elegant and the decoration for the reception evening was basically all white. Therefore I proposed to have a white wedding cake with additional of eye catching motives. At first she loved the idea of using dragon flies for the wedding cake that I previously sculptured but I wanted something differently unique and I selected butterflies. On the spot Li Ling loved the idea and that is how the wedding was sculptured! :)

Two weekends ago Big Boys Oven team had a mooncake making session at Yishensu, One Utama Shopping Mall with our new Talent on Board, Mrs HT Wong and Yishensu is considered to be one of the pioneer in commercializing vegetarian dining restaurant in Malaysia. On that day, I also baked a vegeterian cupcake recipe and will be posting it later.

This 8th August, Sunny Yaw will be hosting this event and together with Mrs HT Wong, they will be sharing some of their baking secret with you. Both very experience and talented chefs and will be embarking into the journey of vegeterian, understudying the Citrus Nutty “Ng Yan” mooncake and cake making.

We have tasted the first batch of this mooncake at Mrs HT Wong R&D kitchen in Ipoh. They were awesomely delicious and full of aroma, infused with dry pumpkin, lots of almond nuts, sweet ginger and many more hidden ingredients that you will learn in this class. It was at the right sweetness, less sugar and suitable for the young and old. In the second session Sunny Yaw will share his experience with you on the making of a vegeterian dessert!
