Individual Hot Steaming Basket Set Meal – Steamed Minced Pork Patty with Salted Fish

It had been for a while I have not been into this restaurant but I was fortunately to find my way into it’s dining area one evening just recently. I just love some of the dishes available here that truly understand what a client needs, something I had before but once lost over the years. Yes dishes that my mom and dad used to cook in their petite kitchen.Simple yet nostalgic dishes like steamed minced pork with salted egg yolk truly grasped my heart winning over and over. I can easily have it with two or even three bowls of white rice, at least wo of them might just be eaten with it’s salty yet fishy relinguished sauce. Therefore I guess do not need to say much about this salted fish with minced pork dish, you ust need to try it yourself. I bet you will be like me.

Le Virage Restaurant at Fisherman Village Koh Samui

Le Virage 1Le Virage
Le Virage

When we were at the Fisherman Village for the night market we noticed Le Virage as it was packed. It is a small western eatery that served pasta. pizza and french dishes. We loved the ambient which was not too loud the next evening. The waitress was prompt in her service, within a minute we shorted out our dinner. We order a fruit juice and a Singa beer followed by a pizza and a pasta dish. We wanted something light and not too heavy as we were rather tired after our Ang Thong National Marine Park trip.

A Cantonese Affair at Tai Zi Heen Prince Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Peking Duck
Preparing A Peking Duck

Early this month of November I was back at Tai Zi Heen to have myself indulging their remarkable Peking Duck. Not only it was deliciously well prepared Peking Duck, I had it only for RM1. It was such a great offer. All I did was to reserved a table with a minimum spending of RM300. I was lucky too as it was only for the first 8 dinner reservation nightly.

It was beautifully roasted and looked so crispy. The carving was truly attentive during the serving of the Peking Duck. Every skin was very perfectly calculated and sliced. The crisp skin of the Peking Duck was placed on the light thin pancake before rolling into a gigar like shape, together with match cucumber slice, spring onion and homemade hoi sin sauce. A bit into it was truly gorgeous, it was fragrant and tasty. I just loved it.

A modern chic restaurant yet with real appealing comfortable setting had made me wanted to stay even longer, great to have it buffet. Something I love to be especially dining with some close friends. As I walked in I just can’t help noticing the smell of the freshly grillied satay. It was such fragrantly sweet and biting into a stick was just heavenly felt, tender and juciy as always.

Clams
Fresh calms, mussels, prawns and squids

Freshly brought in produce can be truly exciting as every dish created can be very inspired. This was the experience that I had. It was at Senja @ Saujana and it was truly a mind blowning experience that I had enjoyed most. A series of unforgetable dishes pairing with array of astounding Italian wines. It was a perfect night. Here at Senja, fresh calms, mussels, prawns and squids were paraded at the preparation table. Looked very glamour.

IL GIARDINO 1

Having to be in the city of Johor Bahru and tried the local food, I decided to put my taste buds on western food, this time I visited a local Italian restaurant called Il Giardino which was very interesting, simple and do have the Italian feel, great atmosphere.

We ordered Aglio Olio (with beef ham and squid) and Seafood Carbonara. Both were deliciously done to my expectation and we meet the owner too, Ms Kentt as she saw us kept snapping photos of our food. Later we were invited back for a food tasting that night by the owner herself.

Mee Rebus & Rojak, Abdullah Mastan Ghani, Teluk Intan

Teluk Intan or Talunk Anson is a very famous town in Perak with it’s own famous leaning clock tower and situated along the river bank. I was there for a weekend and discovered this delicous Indian muslim noodle called “mee rebus” aka steam noodle situated in the heart of this little town.

All the delicious toppings such as curd soya bean, potato and fried crispy onion fritters.

This the delicious mee rebus coated with delicious spicy sweet tomato sauce.
This is rojak, which consist of the toppings without the noodle.

The weather was warm, indulge into a glass of mix scrapped ice is the best thing to do. A great thirst killer. A plate of mee rebus or rojak is only RM2.50 and it is a great bargain that you cannot find in Kuala Lumpur . . . . SidneyK
