Fruit Loh Sang

I just love the arrival of the Chinese New Year festival as it is the time that I get to taste delicious delicates specially for the festive. My first Chinese New Year feast was at Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant and we firstly embarked with with toasting the Loh Sang. Here at Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant we graced the night with a tremendous delicious fruit Loh Sang. The dish itself was so colourful and so easily spotted. It had a variety of finely sliced fruits such as dragon fruit, jambu, melon, carrot, pickled ginger, onion, daikon and many more to name on the list. The platter was accompanied with five spice powder, crackers and a delicious homemade sweet sauce to complete the whole recipe. We went toasting and shouted loudly to welcome the new year in hoping to bring us luck, prosperity and joy ! Got to say every bite into the Loh Sang was such a treat and defintely suited well for any one especially those who are vegeterian.

The Dying Art Of A Good, Delicious & The Best ‘Chee Cheong Fun’

PASIR PINJI 3 ROAD, PASIR PINJI, IPOH

Note: “Chee Cheong Fun” = Steam Rice Noodle
When I was a kid, I still remember my dad and mom will take me out for a ride on their morris minor and it was always be a special night when we headed to the Caning Garden “Chee Cheong Fun”. I can still remember the stall which was located at the middle side of a football field. It was as usually crowded and that it was nearly more than 30years ago. And yet recently the temptation of “Chee Cheong Fun” had excited me again, reborn! . . . . as I had found the best ever “Chee Cheong Fun” in my whole entire life and this is the one, a NO name “Chee Cheong Fun” located in Pasir Pinji.

The best jokes that we alway cracked about this stall was their quing number system whereby you have to obtain before serving. YES! the QUE and YOU are not the QUEEN!, YOU still have to wait and with added patient! You will be given a number, sit and you will be served when your number is called. Don’t this tell you about the “Chee Cheong Fun” served here. YES! It is truely awesome delicious “Chee Cheong Fun”, it just melts in your mouth, so soft and yet so fragrant, with the mixture of an authentic sauce which enhance this “Chee Cheong Fun” ever further. The real bonus about it, . . . it is really affordable, so CHEAP!, read my word again if you dont believe,………… VERY CHEAP!

Pastries from Canton-I, One Utama, Petaling Jaya

Got to let you know that I had been eyeing these pastries for ages. I spotted them the first day when I was walking past by Canton-I with Sunny Yaw. What striked me that day was the pineapple paste, looks so petite and so adorable, I told myself I have to get my hands on them and eat it! They look similar to “Woo Kok” (yam pastry) but they are rather petitely presented. Gosh, this little devils really know how to make me salivating! Such a festish and so desirable! This lead to having to own them, but just for a few second as they all end up being process in my bulgy stomach!

An Egg Tart for RM1.50each. Very flaky pastry and the egg custard is so adorable.
