This round we were invited to taste the flavours influenced by Osaka and Tokyo at Genji Japanese Restaurant Hilton Petaling Jaya created by Chef Richard Teoh himself, definitely known for his style in prepping his gorgeous cuisine. For my first time, Chef Richard Teoh had his creation with a philosophy of back to basics. His new menu focuses on delivering authentic dished with a mix of traditional artistry and infused with robust flavours to tickle the taste buds of local Japanese food lovers like myself.

I was in for a great treat at a new place along Jalan Ampang here in the city located nearby KLCC named SOULed OUT Ampang. I just love the interior and the deco of this newly born restaurant, to be precised its their 2nd outlet, the famous first in Sri Hartamas. The invitation came very handy as I get the first peek of the place, loved it. Very chick and yet kept to full of simplicity. Lots of wood came into play, from table to wall paneling to the ceiling.

It is awesome to be back again here at restaurant for an induging pleasure dinner and we were greeted by Woo Ng Kee’s second generation Chef/Owner Woo Hee Chow himself.This three generation restaurant chefs are famous for its amazing Chinese roasting ranging from pork belly to duckling. Chef’s brother is also famous for its own duck roasting in Kepong at Aun Kee. On our second visit Chef himself had planned an awesome line of surprises for us to sample and it was based on his make famous 70’s and 80’s dishes. He challenged me by the end of the night I will be salivating over his rustic and recto creations and i got to inform that night I felt like a Chinese Al Capone in making. It was a sure an opulent night.

Having the refreshing taste of lemon infused in the mousse can be truly delicious. But to enhance the taste, basil leafs was generously disposed into the it. The volcanic taste will just burst into awesome flavour and yet kept at lite.

The deeper we looked, we make a fabulous discovery not far from Moon Sing Restaurant. Hidden truly inside at the corner of a housing estate we found Wan Jia Restaurant at Taman Wangsa Permai. I was told that this restaurant had been operating for nearly to 6 years now and still going on very well. The food I had was truly well polish with delight, it was jewel to me personally. My discovery was truly worth every dollar that we paid on that evening.

Deep Fried Bentong Ginger and Frog Meat was astonishing exciting and delicious. The meat was really fresh, juicy, meaty too and crisp on the outside. I discovered that this dish was accompanied with to die for, crispy and delicious Bentong ginger chips. It was really good. It is a must have dish. Unique and deliciously yet different. Full of simplicity.

I meet with Julia a month ago and she insisted me to sculpture her brother’s (Razman) “akad nkah” cake. It will be one of the gifts for the bride during the ceremony this weekend. She love the other silver cake I sculptured a couple of months ago and insist of something similar and yet different. She wanted something modern in design and sophisicated. It was fun in choosing the colours. Gold, White and Feather Pink wwere put into play.

I was so in love with this wedding cake because it took me about 2 weeks to come out with the concept. I was given two colours to play wiith a white and a dark brown. The bride was truly a princess with truly soft spokenly and carried herself elegantly. She loves sparkles. While the prince was charming. He loves simplicity.

The 15th day of the 8th lunar month happened to fall on mid September this year and the Mid-Autumn Festival or “Zhongqiu” Festival will be celebrated. This year I got to taste the mooncake from The Ritz- Carlton ranging from white lotus paste with egg yolk, lotus paste, red bean, snow skin with Moet & Chandon Champagne infused and also their durian snow mooncake.

Recently Coco had invited us for a food snack at Oyster King located at the food basement of The Gardens which offered a range of Chinese tradisional delights such as Fried Oyster, Oyster Noodle and many more. That night there were about twenty guests attended this gathering and SuperWilson recieved a small surprise birthday cake. :)

Ribbon and Jewellery were the two theme used for this wedding celebration. Ribbon was the idea from the bride and jewellery was added to give the wedding cake glamour.
