According to the Chinese zodiac, people born in the Year of the Horse are active, energetic, charming and cheerful. So we foodies got together and had a toast ritual of Yee Sang at Si Chuan Dou Hua Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur and house fruit Yee Sang platter greeted us with such as style, fun and fostered our friendship. I just love the arrival of the Chinese New Year festival as it is the time that I get to taste delicious delicates specially for the festive. My first Chinese New Year feast was at Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant and we firstly embarked with with toasting the Loh Sang. Here at Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant we graced the night with a tremendous delicious fruit Loh Sang. The dish itself was so colourful and so easily spotted. It had a variety of finely sliced fruits such as dragon fruit, jambu, melon, carrot, pickled ginger, onion, daikon and many more to name on the list. The platter was accompanied with five spice powder, crackers and a delicious homemade sweet sauce to complete the whole recipe. We went toasting and shouted loudly to welcome the new year in hoping to bring us luck, prosperity and joy ! Got to say every bite into the Loh Sang was such a treat and defintely suited well for any one especially those who are vegeterian.

Yes I was there tossing my delicious Yee Sang with many lovely thoughts and 2012 wishes. :)

Now . . . . I think I am having pretty great fun with Yee Sang. Almost everyday I am making a date with it and everytime its different. This time I had a Yee Sang with Hokkaido Scallops topped with a touch of edible gold paper. The huge dining hall with tall ceiling was decorated with beautiful coloured paper lanterns.

When I received the invitation from the award winning Kim Ma Cantonese Fusion Restaurant for a Yee Sang tossing, it filled myself with such a delight and joy. I knew about the famous Kim Ma Restaurant many years back when I was still a pre-matured blogger. I was at the Palace of the Golden Horses at that time reviewing their Italian cuisine which was incrediblity fabulous too. Upon learning about the famous Chef Roy Wong’s creation at Kim Ma it had drove my craving even stronger and at last I got an invitation to dine there. Very happy!

At recent I attended a tasting event at Dragon-i, the guests included myself were showered with delicious gourmet. We were well seated and we kept busy with fresh fruit juices and Chinese tea while a huge colourful platter of ‘Yee Sang’ appeared right infront of us ready to be indulged. Got to confess, my main hard to resist mission was to smack lip myself into their famous treasure pot. This time I was informed that we were going to try out their Signature Prosperity Abalone Treasure Pot which cost RM688++ that came with a mixture of the most exquisite quality Chinese foods available, including 6-heads braised premium Australian Abalones, premium Japanese Sea Cucumber, authentic shark’s fin, premium Japanese dried scallops, specially selected fish belly, premium fish maw and twelve more quality ingredients, filled with Dragon-i’s signature broth. It was totally a gastronomical indulgence, heaven to me.

Food always get people connected, it connects people and this time I get to lunch with some old frends and make a few new ones over a fabulous lunch at the East of Highway. It was a banquet lunch in a private dining room with a feast of treats. The line up for that noon was clearly a well crafted meal, every dish was perfectly assembled and executed. The smooth Merlot was lingering over our thirst with such an ease, I had countless helpings.

I had a great lunch and this time I was able to indulge Chef Chan Chong Yen’s lastest Chinese creation at Toh Lee. As the head chef, Chef Chan is known for his artistic and creative in his food direction while insist of freshness and finest in his ingredients At the restaurant that noon we had the pleasure to try out some of his creations from two of his oriental 6-course set lunchess Each set comprised of a starter, a soup, three main courses and a dessert. It is definitely a perfect feast.
