But if you are looking for a great rustic feel backdrop with cart-away dim sum, I would invite you to gourmet the Xin Cuisine Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur with Chef Loong. His creation is back to basic yet packed with wholesome creation. my favourite is his fish balls. Another place that is also very much sort out would be definitely the halal dim sum at Luk Yu Tae House at Starhill Gallery. I love the dim sum served here is wholesome.

Another exciting Dim Sum Restaurant that any dim sum intuition must taste would be at Ee Chinese Cuisine Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya. The dim sum here is much sort after and truly an exciting cuisine excursion. Even having a bite of it’s luxurious Chinese Chives & Prawn Crystal Dumpling can be so divine, so delicious.

Yes Chef Ng Meng Loong is known for creativeness and also maintaining the taste and flavor of his Dim Sum. His Dim Sum is a morning gourmet to die for and I was lucky to be able to taste his handmade Dim Sum creations.

It had been sometime now that I had not been updating my blog but I am sure you would have caught me on my facebook (Sidney Kan). For a simple reason I had left my professorship and had been on light travelling. The destinations that had my foot marks were Langkawi, Bangkok and Jakarta. It was not soul-searching but rather a free and easy travelling. Seeing and eating were my objectives.

Back to this post, yet another favourite food tasting of mine I had recemtly. This time I caught up with a fantastic Master Dim Sum Chef Yoon Kong Thye who is based at Lai Ching Yuen Chinese Restaurant. He is a truly an artisan on what he creates best, a fabulous outstanding Dim Sum. Here, I got to confess that I had a fabulous time when I get to meet up with him at his open designed kitchen. :)

Over the weekend I attended a lunch Dim Sum at EE Chinese Cuisine located at Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya. Before I start rambling over the food, I got to confess it was a fabulous DIM SUM experience of taste and craftmanship. Everyone was raving about it as far as I know, especially those sitting right and left from my seat. It was definitely a rave as I would put it, ” Premium all you can eat dim sum at RM48++ per pax is denifitely a great bargain”.

Now . . . . I think I am having pretty great fun with Yee Sang. Almost everyday I am making a date with it and everytime its different. This time I had a Yee Sang with Hokkaido Scallops topped with a touch of edible gold paper. The huge dining hall with tall ceiling was decorated with beautiful coloured paper lanterns.

At recent Intermark celebrated their First year with a unique Culinary Hop and I was there to observe. One of my stop was at Kin no Mizu, a Japanese dining which I trruly caught my eye-bulging attention. “Unique it was. Slick it was. Bold it was. Mind blowing it was”, I whispered to myself with such a fast heart beat. Truly a blood pumping situation, my system was filled with such an excitement. Believe me I was truly impressed which this place.

It had been a relax weekend and yet full of drama but everything had been well sorted. Last weekend I meet up with celebrity Chef Martin Yen at the world trade center PWTC, he was truly awesome and charmed his audiences with such a delight that filled with warm smile. As for a fabulous cuisine I had a Teochew date with Master Chef Michael Chew at Zuan Yuan, One World Hotel. That night was such an amazing night filled with taste and laughter as the lady guests was teasing this charming young handsome chef, Chef Michael.

Samplings on the Fourteen MIGF 2011

It had been great this time and it has been fabulous all this while. Meeting many new faces in life can be such a terrific thing to do. They are fabulous, being around them can be so fun. We even share our thoughts, life and even the food we touch. Thank you.

My food expedition this time was to drop by the Samplings on the Fourteen for a well refined crafted dinner. This time is to taste their MIGF 2001 menu . I got to say I love the setting of this restaurant, indeed a classic place to be. Enclosed with a great view over looking the central Kuala Lumpur through the huge piece of glass window.

Food always get people connected, it connects people and this time I get to lunch with some old frends and make a few new ones over a fabulous lunch at the East of Highway. It was a banquet lunch in a private dining room with a feast of treats. The line up for that noon was clearly a well crafted meal, every dish was perfectly assembled and executed. The smooth Merlot was lingering over our thirst with such an ease, I had countless helpings.

Its funny how I fall for them and how my taste changes with them. For me I started with red nearly 15years ago, aged in oak is a must while a touch of vanilla would be perfect. While recalling to my stay in europe, visiting a bordeaux and sipping those labelled bottle was truly intrigged, it was a chance of a life time. A fabulous life style to die for. One day a sip of one white gold liquid had then turn my preferrance to medium white drinker and that’s my exposure to German wine.

Lately I had been attending quiet a few wine pairing refine dinners and this one was one of the most interesting one I ever come across with. The range of wine poured that night were just perfect to my pallete. It jived so well to my taste and liking. I just love smooth, tasty and full body wines while a touch of bitterness may not suits well to my liking. It was Xanadu Wine from the Margaret River, Australia that caught my attention.
