The Way to Indulge A Duck. . . . . !

AROMATIC & CRISPY DUCK

This dish is served and eaten in the same way as Peking Duck -wrapped in a pancake along with shredded spring onion, cucumber sticks and Hoi Sin sauce. I prefer to add spicy dry prawn chilli paste, very oishi delicious. In a restaurant, this dish can be much conviniently served than Peking Duck because a quantity of duck can be precooked in the marinade or cooking sauce and put aside. When required, they are simply deep-fried for 10-11minutes and served, bcause of th final deep-frying, the duck meat will invariably be crisper and without the care and precise timing required when preparing and cooking traditional Peking Duck.

Gosh, I got to admit that I can have half of a duck all by myself, you must try this recipe as it is pretty awesoe, simple and yet not difficult at all. You can even prepare it a day earlier, just deep fry when need to serve. If not try at your nearest chinese restaurant or if you are in Petaling Jaya, you can drop by the CUBES . . . . . . yours SidneyK

A Fusion Chic, Newbie in Town

DSCN6067

On the 7th of June, it was the Opening of Entranze which offered a range of japanese fusion cuisine located at Sunway Damansara, Kota Damansara. The shop front looked very modern and slick which really had caught my attention.

DSCN6115

Red ribbons and scissors were readily for the cutting ceremony. It was a closed affair where relatives and friends were invited . . . so were we. The interior was simple but very modern and comfortable.

DSCN6086

This Chuka Lidako(Baby Octopus) looked so deliciously red. I was so attracted to it that I wanted to use my fingers to have a piece!

DSCN6083

Then next to it was this Chuka Kuraage(Seasoned Jelly Fish) which was awesomely good.

DSCN6079

Not far was Chuka Hotate(Seasoned Sliced Scallops) which was well prepared ready to be eaten.

DSCN6093

Potato Salad looked impressive too. I love the bright yellow colours and looked so refreshingly good.

DSCN6071

Well I got to say I find this dish with a very funny name, Dancing Prawn, Looked cool tho!

DSCN6097

Deep Fried Seafood Tofu was on the menu too, fried till golden brown and top with some cream.

DSCN6124

Abuc Boza Teriyaki(Pan Fried Battle Fish with Terriyaki Sauce) was well arranged on the serving platter.

DSCN6126

Tori Karaage looked good too.

DSCN6109

Garlic Fried Rice, was fragrant too!

DSCN6091

At the end of the serving table, there were a variety of cut fruits readily to be eaten. I got to say this place is a new and trendy place at Kota Damansara and worth to explore.

CREATIVE & INNOVATIVE PASTA DISHES ARE IN TOWN NOW

PASTA de GOHAN @ SUNWAY PYRAMID SHOPPING MALL

DSCN4493A

DSCN4476A

This week we managed to make a dinner date appointment with four lovely ladies, Christine, Ah Wei and Citygal. It was a get together dinner before Christine’s departure to Glasgow early June to continuing her final year studies. We picked this new pasta outlet because it was serving 72 different types of pasta dishes. This place do give a great bright feeling and decorated with beautifully plastic replicas of their dishes.

DSCN4947A

Lobster Carbonara served in japanese style original cream sauce was a smashing dish by itself indeed as it came with a half lobster. The lobster was very well cooked and presented and goes so well with the pasta. It is a dish to be on your order list as it is only RM36.80(US11.00).

DSCN4481A

Bacon Carbonara tasted delicious, that is how I would like my carbonara to be, sauce not to thick and tasty. The appearance of this dish is incrediblely cool as it was topped with a half boiled egg and also strips of well fried bacons.

DSCN4926A

Fettuccini al Nero de Sepia, I would say awesome! Fettuccini sevred with squid and black squid ink sauce was very unique and taste delicious as the sauce was very thick, as how people would describe local coffee, “KAO”. The aroma of black squid ink from this paste was adorable and rich.

DSCN4929A

Prawn and Octopus Spaghetti in basil sauce rocks as you can taste the aroma of the basil and yet not too strong and over powering.

DSCN4943A

Eel and Egg Spaghetti is good too but I only managed to taste the pasta as all the eel when missing. lol! I guess the eel must be good.

DSCN4950A

Katsu Tamatoji is a lovely dish and I adored the fried breaded pork cutlet as it was very tasty and paired very well with the pasta.

DSCN4934A

We ordered a spicy cod roe and potato pizza and the pizza dough was very refined, thin and crispy. I got to say I also seek for crispy pizza but I have never ever come across such thin and crispy pizza. It was really my liking but I guess it was a bit small, prefer it to be bigger.

DSCN4931A

Doria with Scallop and Chicken is a dish very similar to the cheese bake rice. I find this dish very tasty but do lack of sauce and dry.

The ladies took charge in ordering the desserts and we end up having delicious Macha Azuki Parfait, melting Ichiga-Milk Parfait, awesome Tiramisu Parfiat, lovely Oreo Banana Parfait and Shiratama Macha Monaka Ice Cream. Overal the dessert was fantastic, soft, creamy and not too overly sweet.

This is a pasta outlet that I will be coming back for more!

Fusou Lou Nyonya Seafood Curry Mee at SS14,Petaling Jaya

Being an Ipoh boy myself, curry noodle is something we always crave for. I found this delicious nyonya curry noodle at Section 14, PJ located at the othter of Jaya supermarket. This stall is located at a small food court.

The are so many variety of topping that you can put on your curry noodle such as curry prawn, chicken, roast pork, curry fish and also long bean.

I like this nyoya curry as the taste is rather unique compare to those normal curry noodle that we usually get.

If you are around the area in the morning, do drop by and taste this delicious curry noodle . . . Sidney

Restoran 3U. Taman Tyton, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur

Restaurant 3U at Taman Tyton, Cheras is an amazing place just to have a bowl of beef noodle. Got to say the beef soup is gorgeous and the beef meat taste so tender.

A bowl of braised beef with dry noodle is also winner at this noodle restaurant.

You can also opt for a mixed beef noodle soup which is the most spectecular dish of the day.

A bowl of noodle can never do without a side dish of sambal but this place , you can find a delicious awesome dry prawn chilli sambal.

We also tasted prawn wanton which is delicious. This is a must order.

You can also can get a bowl of lovely curry chicken noodle at 6pm.

Fork & Spoon, Dataran Sunway

I was at CIP’s Hari Raya open house recently at Sime Darby Convention Centre that I meet Jaee and Li Vooi. We somehow got introduced by my good friend, Johan Nazir and end up talking about food and foodblogging rather discussing about what is the next ICT invention that can make money. After talking to Jaee, I was invited to visit Jaee’s working place, a cafe by the name Fork & Spoon. It was also by chance that Fork & Spoon Cafe is just near by my place located at Kota Damansara, so Sunny and myself decided to visit this cafe that night.

When we arrived at the cafe, we notice that the cafe offers a wide range of food such as nyonya food, hawker food, western, also delicious desserts and also roti bakar.

We were served with iced cold honey lemon drink which is a thrist relieve and refreshing drink. We like it so much, not to sweet but ends with a honey lemony taste.

Then came the Malaysian Prawn noodle “Hae Mee” as well mentioned by Carol. Their Prawn noodle consist of few medium size prawns and pork ribs. The stock was really good and tasty, don’t taste much of MSG.

The flow keep coming, next it was the huge rendang chicken. Oh! I love the way they had their rendang chicken cooked, real spot on, just the way I like, so ethnic, one bite and you know it is cooked by a malay chef. Delicious.

Jaee came and told us that the main dishes will be coming and as us to relax a while and have some nibble of ikan bilis. This ikan bilis dish according to Jaee, is s dish create for drinkers as it goes well with beer and liquor. It is really good, the ikan bilis is so crunchy and coated with caramel, makes it so marvellous. Yes I do agree that this dish is a good company of snack for people who are drinking and also having a good dinner chat. A thumbs up!

Here comes or main dishes, gosh what a great feast for the two of person. We were a real eater that night, loading fofd and more food. The mixed vegetable was absolutely good, well stir fried. The celery, greenpea, long bean and baby sweetcorn were gorgeous, chrunchy and not over cooked at all.

Oh! we were serve with two new dishes that is going to be launch here in November, this one is “Kum Kong Kwat” a pork rib dish which taste very unique, deep fried short ribs coated with a sweet and lime taste sauce. A taste that somehow will stay in your mind.

The other new dish is “Yut Sek Har” Vietnamese Style Prawn is also a real winner. The prawns were very fresh and the taste of the sauce infused into the meat.

We ended our delicious and satisfied dinner with onde-onde, a delicious dessert mixture make from glutinous and tapioca flour, with embedded palm sugar and coated with grated coconut.
