We were supposed to be heading to the durian orchard at Bentong that afternoon near by Bukit Tinggi. Due to the heavy downpour, it had stopped us from having the durian feast. Treasure Pot FB
Dragon-i Chinese New Year Treasure Pot

At recent I attended a tasting event at Dragon-i, the guests included myself were showered with delicious gourmet. We were well seated and we kept busy with fresh fruit juices and Chinese tea while a huge colourful platter of ‘Yee Sang’ appeared right infront of us ready to be indulged. Got to confess, my main hard to resist mission was to smack lip myself into their famous treasure pot. This time I was informed that we were going to try out their Signature Prosperity Abalone Treasure Pot which cost RM688++ that came with a mixture of the most exquisite quality Chinese foods available, including 6-heads braised premium Australian Abalones, premium Japanese Sea Cucumber, authentic shark’s fin, premium Japanese dried scallops, specially selected fish belly, premium fish maw and twelve more quality ingredients, filled with Dragon-i’s signature broth. It was totally a gastronomical indulgence, heaven to me.

Yee Sang at Oversea Restaurant, Ipoh

Yup! I am back in Ipoh for Chinese New Year. Reunion dinner is important and I hope everyone gets to dine with their love ones. This year again we are back at the Oversea Restaurant for another splendid eight course dinner. The food this year still maintained well, not bad at all.

Having dinner with my mum’s family is a yearly thing without fail. Everyone is back from their places, a cousin of mine was back with his family from Kota Kinabalu, another family came back from Johor and so was sister back from Singapore. As usual we started toasting the Yee Sang, it was very traditional and simple Yee Sang with slices of fresh water fish.

It was awesome and I just can’t get enough of this Chinese New Year dining experience, every place that I dine seems to be different, exciting, unique and gorgeously prepared and Grand Imperial was one of them. I was drowning with excitment when I saw the awesome refreshing scallops painted the landscaping of the Yee Sang where as the Suckling Piglet was full of orgasm on that evening. Having the freshness from the sea was the main highlight too and the giant garoupa was prepared superbly delicous.
