Chinese Chef Chai Kam Loi (Chef Roy) and West Lake Gardenvery stand Chinese Restaurant’s culinary brigade are serving a range of festive dishes rich in symbolism and tradition befitting the Year of the Horse. The highlights are four (4) auspicious set menus and six (6) delectable Yee Sang specials, will be available for lunch and dinner throughout the festivities and I was there to try out some of the them and it was spectecular delicious.

Now . . . . I think I am having pretty great fun with Yee Sang. Almost everyday I am making a date with it and everytime its different. This time I had a Yee Sang with Hokkaido Scallops topped with a touch of edible gold paper. The huge dining hall with tall ceiling was decorated with beautiful coloured paper lanterns.

It’s awesome to be back again to Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa to try out this year berbuka Puasa Fiesta at the newly refurbished FUZION. I just love this awesome and most the great feel it had encapsulated me that afternoon. Great setting for the review, just outside the the terrace just next to the newly open kitchen. Truly filled with gastronomic feel while the inside is truly gorgeous. Adoreable, definitely a new place to get excited and to play with. Did I mention play? lol :)

A Night Stay at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa

Having such a long months of hard work at the studio, I decided to pamper myself on a night stay at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa. I had myself booked into The Club Room, while checking in I found my room was being up-graded to The Cleub Executive Honeymoon. The room was just spaciously baby blue. Filled with comfort and even we had our own private coffee machine. Romantic indeed. It was truly a speechless pampering, having the luxurious oversized king bed with 10 cm thick “feather-bed” topped mattress, feathered-down duvet, cotton-rich linens and hypo-allergenic pillows. The bathroom itself features Lanvin bath amenities, a bathtub andr a separate glass-enclosed shower with rainshower head. A truly huge exciting bathroom that had been put to play. After short rest we had out afternoon coffee at The Club.

It is defintely on the latest addition to the dining scene in Kuala Lumpur which opens its doors on May 28th, 2011. A Celebration with The Elderly at West Lake Garden Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa

It is awesome to able to sit in for a celebration meal with the elderly. Seeing awesome smiling faces was such a great joy. In the spirit of Chinese New Year I was invited to attend a special charity luncheon together with 230 elderly citizens and old folks. It was joint organised between Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa and the New Horizon, a Senior Citizen’s Programme under Grace Community Services. Grace Community is a registered, non-profit organisation that was established in 1982 to help provide community care, food, shelter, counselling and rehabilitation to the less fortunate.

I was invited to watch the launch of GIVE. SHARE. LOVE a Celebration of Joyful Giving & Merry-Making. It was officiated by YB Elizabeth Wong, EXCO for Tourism, Consumer Affairs & Environment, Selangor State Government with the Children from Trinity Home and attended by almost 100 invited guests. The kick-starting the festive affair was at the lobby of Hotel – aptly conceptualised to be Toyland, and themed Give. Share. Love. – whimsical toys, tasty treats, goodies for less fortunate children and a whole array of trappings come together to make the season even more meaningful.

The 15th day of the 8th Lunar month happened to fall on mid September this year and the Mid-Autumn Festival or “Zhongqiu” Festival will be celebrated. Lunar worshiping and moon watching are part of the ritual during the night of the celebration day while mooncakes are offered between friends and even during family gatherings. It was treated as luxury when I was a child and my dad will make sure we will have a least a box for this special occasion. We the kids we jumping up and down with joy when the mooncake was sliced and looking at the golden orangy salted duck egg yolk was just a glowing jewel with dismay. Now the mooncakes come in awesome beautiful packaging and huge range of flavours and colours. Basically you can have them in golden baked or snow skin while the fillings can be anything beyond your imagination such as white lotus paste, lotus paste, chestnut paste, red bean paste, chocolate brownie and even sweet potato paste. Just awesomely amazing. It makes you just wanting to try them all.

I had just been informed earlier that West Lake Garden Chinese Restaurant at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa reignites the gastronomic charm of Fujian province in China, with the hearty and nourishing concoction of Monk Jumps Over The Wall and will be making its appearance daily on the menu for lunch and dinner from this 1st to 14th August 2009. I will definitely be the first one jumping over the wall and how could I not!
