It had been for a while I have not been into this restaurant but I was fortunately to find my way into it’s dining area one evening just recently. I just love some of the dishes available here that truly understand what a client needs, something I had before but once lost over the years. Yes dishes that my mom and dad used to cook in their petite kitchen.Simple yet nostalgic dishes like steamed minced pork with salted egg yolk truly grasped my heart winning over and over. I can easily have it with two or even three bowls of white rice, at least wo of them might just be eaten with it’s salty yet fishy relinguished sauce. Therefore I guess do not need to say much about this salted fish with minced pork dish, you ust need to try it yourself. I bet you will be like me.

A Chinese New Year Gathering at Flavors Swiss Garden Hotel

It had been a prosperous year 2011 and I had been invited to taste those beautiful dishes. Like last night Julia had invited me “Loh Sang” with her close friends. It was a fabulous night. Thanks Julia! There I was at “On the Table” meeting up with owner & Chef Riz! It was an awesome beautiful and well decorate restaurant. The Loh Sang was splendid! So creatively prepared! I will tell you more later on my facebook!

Yet I also attended another fabulous gathering with people from the media, journalists and bloggers at Flavors, Swiss Garden Hotel. We had a fabulous Loh Sang, this time it was different, we all were gathered to a long table and we toasted the Yee Sang! It was awesome, filled with such joy and laughter! What’s more, we had great company!

I just adore this restaurant as it serves one of the top grilled in town. This restaurant truly has it’s charm and the food just incredible delicious. Itserves beautiful grilled tenderloin, lamb, chicken, prawns and sausages. What makes them so delicious and tasty? I believe it must be the freshness of the ingredients and great marination.

This time I am back at Bossa Nova to taste their New Year Eve Menu, a 5-course set dinner which was just amazingly prepared by an ingenious in-house and boyish Chef Loo. It was truly a refine dinner that I enjoyed that night. Definetely a perfect dinner for this New Year Eve celebration.

To start off the dinner, I had light slices poarched lobster topped with black caviar accompanied with Golden Kiwi Vinaigrette and Shiso Mix. The kiwi Vinaigratte was truly delightful and ingeniuosly infused great flavors into the sliced lobster. I found it truly dazzled!

Next was a light refreshing consomme filled with bursting flavour of porcini mushroom. Having a light soup can be truly delightful than having a thick milk based ones. I like it, it reminds me of caramel onion soup when I was in New York.

Flavors Restaurant is not new to me and I had been quiet a frequent here. This time I had tasted their perennial “Yee Sang”, besides that they are serving the Prosperity Buffet Dinner too. I was lucky as get to taste their drlight dishes such as Steamed Chicken with Arrow Root, “Pei pah” Roasted Duck, a variety of Dim Sum, Deep Fried “Nien Koh”, Fish Stomach with Dried Oyster in Superior Sauce and not forgetting Braised Black mushroom, Dried Oysters and “Tau Kan” on a bed of Fatt Choy.

Swiss Garden Chinese New Year Yee Sang Buiffet

Having to see Yee Sang table was really exciting and I was told that a variety of variation of Yee Sang is being offered, Jellyfish Yee Sang, Seasoned Scallop Finger Yee Sang, Salmon Yee Sang, and Australian Abalone Yee Sang, nice! The sauce offered at Flavors contained of Ribena, Lemon, Apricot Jam and an undisclosed ingredient, all available starting form the price RM38++ onwards.
