This round we were invited to taste the flavours influenced by Osaka and Tokyo at Genji Japanese Restaurant Hilton Petaling Jaya created by Chef Richard Teoh himself, definitely known for his style in prepping his gorgeous cuisine. For my first time, Chef Richard Teoh had his creation with a philosophy of back to basics. His new menu focuses on delivering authentic dished with a mix of traditional artistry and infused with robust flavours to tickle the taste buds of local Japanese food lovers like myself.

Terrace Arms Grill and Steak is a steakhouse that serves up simple steaks, burgers, sandwiches and drinks. It is a very confortable and a relax place to be. You will also notice that a lot of effort had been placed here for churning out good food. You can see the kitchen in action through the look through glass panels. We were there that night on a St Patrick’s food trail on the invitation of Guinness! Yes having a pint of Guinness is such a pure pleasure. I love having it chilled.

BURLESQUE! What a name I would associate it with Sen Kee’s Satay. They can thrill you, sexly grilled to perfection, succulent in taste and texture. Yes you can have chicken, duck, mutton and even beef but my favourite would be their duck and mutton satay.

Porridge

I found something I like in Ipoh, it was this bowl of awesome goodness porridge. It was so refinely boiled with such a consistant texture and thickness. I guess two most important to acquire a tasty porridge would be having a well brewed based broth and a good variety selection of rice grain. Brewing a good porridge may not be an easy task, some may sort to be perfectionist by having the right combination of rice grain as just to perfect it.
