Recipe Homemade Soy Milk with Red Dates

soya bean story

Just love having the Philip Soy Milk maker readily at home. This machine is able to cope with 1.2litre. I just find it very handy and fresh soy milk can easily access. Firstly you need to soak the beans over night before brewing it in the morning. Simple and easy. A fresh warm soy milk is just amazingly delicious and with infused red dates can be awesome. Nice light flavouring and great hinted smell.

Homemade Salmon and Potato Patties

pattie1

Love cooking, love my grocer-ing. Even though I love eating out so much and having constant food reviews, I always make sure that I do some cooking once awhile at home. Dishing out food at your private time can be such a blessing and defintely a peace theraphy. Cooking can be as good as conducting meditation. So this time I managed to recycle the left-overs in my fridge, the pan fried salmon and also the potatoes tucked quietly at the corner of the fridge. I decided to have something simple and tasty, making patties. Mashed them up, balled them up, flatten them and gave them a slow pan fried till golden brown.

Nameless Noodles Shop at Ming Heang Hui Jalan Cheras

The Nameless Noodle Signboard

Tucked along a busy street of Jalan Cheras near the junction of the PGRM building we found the nameless Hokkien Noodle stall located at Ming Heang Hui Coffee Shop. It was an after event at PGRM that got us hunting for this midnight supper just across the road. Stood right at a corner in a quiet lane came the blasting sound of gas furnace fuming with awesome pungent smell of “wok hei”. The place itself was totally crowded at that moment of our arrival of this old boys school coffee shop and people was eyeing for empty table just like a flock of deadly hunting vulchers.

Yee Sang
Yee Sang at Oversea Restaurant, Ipoh

Yup! I am back in Ipoh for Chinese New Year. Reunion dinner is important and I hope everyone gets to dine with their love ones. This year again we are back at the Oversea Restaurant for another splendid eight course dinner. The food this year still maintained well, not bad at all.

Having dinner with my mum’s family is a yearly thing without fail. Everyone is back from their places, a cousin of mine was back with his family from Kota Kinabalu, another family came back from Johor and so was sister back from Singapore. As usual we started toasting the Yee Sang, it was very traditional and simple Yee Sang with slices of fresh water fish.

Craft Your Own Prince Hotel White Coffee Baked Mooncake

10 Prince_Freshly_Baked_Moon_Cake

Lunar worshiping and moon watching are part of the ritual during the night of the celebration day while mooncakes are offered between friends and even during family gatherings. The 15th day of the 8th Lunar month happened to fall on mid September this year and the Mid-Autumn Festival or “Zhongqiu” Festival will be celebrated. Mooncake was treated as luxury when I was a child and my dad will make sure we will have a least a box for this special occasion. We the kids we jumping up and down with joy when the mooncake was sliced and looking at the golden orangy salted duck egg yolk was just a glowing jewel with dismay.
