Nyonya Delights at Neighbourhood Dataran Sunway

Nyonya Delights 7
Nyonya Delights

Well when one ask me where I like to have my lunch, I would tell them I would love to stop my favourite nyonya mixed rice. Located not too far from my place just at the Neighbourhood Food Court, Dataran Sunaway. I just love few of their main dishes such as the mouthwatering golden fried pork coated with yummy caramelized bbd sauce, the tender wild boar curry a must have, even their pan fried mackerel coated with tamarind sauce and strings of fried gingers, their ‘sambal sotong’ squid and cockles are both to die for. I got to say their Nyonya Nasi Lemak can be a divine breakfast. Here you can also get Tom Yum Fried Mee Hoon as snacka while their Asam Vegetable is damn classic. Best time to lingering around this shop would be at 12noon as most disihes will parade themselves.

Revisit The Uma at The Strand Kota Damansara

The Uma Rice
The Uma Rice

This had been my countless return back to dine at The Uma, a very appealing and authentic Balinese restaurant located at The Strand, Kota Damansara. This time I took my two ladies, my mum and aunt to dine here over a lazy weekend. It is definite a place to be when you are looking for a relaxing place with enjoying an authentic food. It had been appealing to me because of it’s unique cosy deco. A very lay back atmopshere. It remindered me of my stay at the Bali resort last year, a very pampering feeling with a touch of posh feeling. Yes it’s The Uma.

Norman Musa Fires Up His Curries in UK & his Cookbook Winners

Hello all

It has been a while again since I last wrote about my ‘journey’. I have to say it has been mad crazy with my schedule in the last couple of months. I went back twice to Malaysia within 2 weeks. Not because I can afford it but because of my duty to promote Malaysian food in the UK.

In the last two months, I was busy with many cooking demos like Manchester Food & Drink Festival, Northwest Food Lovers Festival and also touring all Wing Yip Chinese Superstores in the UK. Started in Manchester, where I am based and then followed by Croydon, Cricklewood and Birmingham. The reception was overwhelming. What make it so good is the fact that I met many Malaysians who have lived in London for a very long time and some for more than 40 years and yet still craving for Malaysian food. They were very supportive knowing that I am promoting the cuisine and my cookbook ‘Malaysian Food’ in the UK.

Berbuka Puasa at Belanga Empire Subang Jaya

Interior Belanga 2
Belanga Empire

The Empire Shopping Gallery located at Subang Jaya was my next stop and I was to meet up with Zarina and her husband for a meal. Belanga was picked as we wanted to try out the Kelantanese cuisine. The place was simple and decorated with sophisticated “belanga” or cooking pots made out of clay.

Interior Belanga 1

The space was also filled a marching of beautiful white painted chairs and the walls were filled with dark brown wooden paneling and luxurious crafted ‘songket”. They were so noticeable and were truly gorgeous.

Interior Belanga

We arrived on time as planned and we were seated at a quiet corner. The order was made soon after some negotiation between us. The drinks did not take too long to arrive.

Norman Musa meets Datuk Nicol Ann David

Norman Musa & Nicole

Hello All. Apa Khabar?

It has been a while since I wrote on this blog and I don’t know how many times I have apologised to Sidney for my lack of discipline in posting him the story. Anyway, I am back now for good so Sidney’s inbox will be bombarded with my stories (whether he likes it or not HA HA) as I have so many things to tell.

I was in Valencia the last time I wrote. Since then, many things happened and I haven’t been resting properly for a while. Only until now after I quit Formula One and yes that is true and many people would think I have given up the opportunity that some could think it is worth more than anything in the world. After all, I have been doing it for five months and I can say there is no beauty of it apart from you get to see the drivers hanging around but I am not a big fan of Formula One so I don’t get the joy of it. It sounds so glamorous and you get to travel around the world but the thing is you only get to see the airports more than the cities are unless the hotel is right in the city centre. We were fortunate enough for the places like Montreal, Monaco, Melbourne and Budapest but the others were like in the middle of nowhere. After all I have gained such a wonderful experience and during these five months I have learnt a lot and appreciate for what I have achieved to date.
