Recipe Ah Wong Chai’s Lamb Curry

curry lamb

When I saw this photo recipe at Ah Wong Chai’s facebook I knew I must give this recipe a try. I took his recipe and improvised to suit pressure cooking. More prep work is needed this time, and pan frying the ingredients is needed before placing into the pressure cooker. Coat the lamb with the mixture, placed the ingredients into the pressure cooker pot close the cover and start cooking.

My next food excursion had landed myself and my team indulging yet another truly hidden treasure here at Kepong. We visited Woo Ng Kee Restaurant at Taman Ehsan located at Kepong. Yes Kepong has amazing food outlet to be discovered. Woo Ng Kee has 60years in food with three generations of chefs in it’s record. First it started at Pudu roda side stalls nearby the historical Pudu Jail and relocated nearly 26years to Taman Ehsan.

First came a truly delicious home cooking dish named after a famous 70’s song “Mei Lan Mei Lan Woh Ai Nee” mei Lan Mei Lan I Love You. Simple and yet a delicious dish. It was cleverly dish out with the combination of refinely chopped sweet and salted preserved mustard cabbage over minced pork and young Kai Lan. Vey well dry wok fried. Very bold and fragrant. I just love it. Goes very well with a bowl of steamed white rice.

Rogers Delight at Kota Damansara

Roger Delight

Roger Delight sounds very American, just like the diners. But don’t let of such to fool you, Roger Delights is a newly opened Chinese cuisine outlet located just about my neighbourhood here at Kota Damansara. The owner/chef Roger Chong had recently flown back from US to set up his restaurant after spending his culinary venture. With his wide experience in authentic Chinese cuisine, Nyonya cuisine would be his pick for this restaurant. The food here is absolutely delicious with a touch of authenticness. Lovely.

Eight Best Crab Dishes in Kuala Lumpur

Marmite Crab at Mei Xichuan Restaurant
Marmite Crab at Mei Chixuan Restaurant

I am totally a crab eating fan and I find them totally succulent, flavourful and excitingly delicious. As the high demand, most mud crabs available here in Kuala Lumpur are either imported from Bangladesh or from our neighbouring country Indonesia while Sri Lanka crabs seem scarce.

The prices of the mud crabs are based on their size, the big the size the higher the price per kg, usually small size starts from RM28/kg while medium size starts from RM40/kg and large size starts from RM70/kg. Mud crabs are be very versatile and can be steamed, grilled and deep fried over a variety of sauces such as sweet and sour, black pepper, curry powder, salted egg yolk, black bean and many more to name but it is a must to have them fresh as the meat will always be firm and sweet juicy.
