Best New Eatery SERAI EMPIRE at Empire Shopping Gallery Subang Jaya

SERAI is a name that always buzz in my head. I just love it’s lemony fragrant and taste that can burst inside your mouth which may work wonders. It is definitely an amazing herb that is being infused into our drinks, soups and curries. Yet here at Empire Shopping Gallery I stumbled upon an eatery by the name of Serai Empire. I definitely recognised this restaurant as it is run by Chef Najib who I interviewed few months back for the newspaper. Now he is heading this kitchen. His creations are so well recieved and I was told the restaurant is packed during weekends.

Chef Najib yet another talented chef who had been abroad for more than 10years in perfecting his culinary. That was in Australia. Back here with his luggage of talent and together with the Taff family, Serai Empire was opened at Empire Shopping Gallery at Subang Jaya . With a simple and very laid back interior together with it’s delicious style of dishes, Serai Empire will definitely can easily charm it’s customer. I was there and I loved it. It was totally pampering.

Baking at Anna’s Culinary Singapore

Last night I had a great night out with the group of foodies on food indulging at the Tropicana mall, just nearby my residence. It was truly awesome as we had BBQ and dessert from RUI’s too (the Opera was awesome, so were the white chocolate cheese cake)! I will let you know the details late on the coming post.

Well, about a month or so I was in Singapore, . . . . yup I was doing my baking tour and I was at Ann’s Culinary. I had a two days non-stop baking, back to back session. It was a real demanding classes which I truly enjoyed them as it was really challenging and it fabulous.

MADAGASCAR CHOCOLATE VANILLA OLIVE CAKE | BIG BOYS OVEN SWEET DESSERT

We had a great time baking and meeting new friends in Johor Bahru (JB). We had 3 sets of baking on the first day instead of two by request and at the end all of us got into being a zombie . . . . yeah, we were so tired and went straight to our bunker!

There were a lot of changes in the Johor Bahru scenery, lots of new roads and new buildings as for food, I would amazingly say, just amazing, just delicious, just awesome!. We had loads of Italian food, you just can’t imagine, just pure lovely, perfect pasta and drooling pizza. We had japanese too, outstanding flavours, fresh shashimi, truely teppanyaki of a whole squid, unagi maki, tempura, not forgetting the garlic fried rice and flushed down with a few cup of rejunevating cooling green tea.

Another exciting menu we had, it was the Bak Kut Teh flushed within the Johor Bahru downtown scene, it was totally amazing delicious. Yet another exciting meal we had was the beef noodle and also the stewed duckling noodle, both amazingly delicious, something not to be missed and I will defintely post about them this coming weeks.

And as for today, I am going to share my delicious discovery of baking, a chocolate vanilla olive oil cake and a recipe by a modest, loyal, good looking and a winning pastry chef himself, Chef Ronny Leung from the famous Hong Kong Club.
