Stuffed Fish Paste

A simple lunch on weekend can be just as interesting, for instant like chopsticking into some delicious yong tau foo. I just love having my fish paste stuffing especially those deep fried dumplings and deep fried beancurd sheet rolls. Dippings is a must in this yong tau foo eating ritual. So we headed to Batu Caves Yong Tau Foo upon a recommendation from a foodie himself.

Restaurant Bubur Goreng Berkeley Garden Klang

Fried Whole Crab with Rice Noodle

What most every time I past through the Klang toll I would imagine myself sitting down for a jolly good porridge, Yes de’porridge and not Bak Kut Teh. A true surprise and yet Klang churns the best Bak Kut Teh. But it is not an ordinary porridge but it is something totally different, it can just knock your heads off. The porridge here infused with superior stock, rich dark sauce and infused with thinly sliced dry squid, petite dry shrimp, small cubes of dry beancurd and also small diced yam. One of the most tasty porridge in town, and so affordable.

Rogers Delight at Kota Damansara

roger delight
Roger Delight

Roger Delight sounds very American, just like the diners. But don’t let of such to fool you, Roger Delights is a newly opened Chinese cuisine outlet located just about my neighbourhood here at Kota Damansara. The owner/chef Roger Chong had recently flown back from US to set up his restaurant after spending his culinary venture. With his wide experience in authentic Chinese cuisine, Nyonya cuisine would be his pick for this restaurant. The food here is absolutely delicious with a touch of authenticness. Lovely.

Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur

DSC_1202

I had been here before as I can recall it was a business dinner and the food was really impressive. The Si Chuan Doi Hua Restaurant is located at PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur is the third outlet of the Si Chuan Dou Hua chain of restaurant opened in 2003. The first one opened in Singapore at PARKROYAL on Beach Road in 1966 followed by the second branch at the panoramic 60th floor of UOB Plaza Singapore in 2002.

The other night I dropped by the restaurant with friends to taste the eight (8) course banquet dinner. I just admired the interior of this simple and yet elegant restaurant. It was very smartly organised with glass penaling making the restaurant look bigger with true comfort. Modern comfort dining chairs and tables were well in place while the ceiling can with hooked bright red cloth lantents. It was truly a beautiful decorated restaurant and admiring those displayed creamic plates and vases was what I did. Great pieces of collection

The Amazing Tea Server

We were uniquely served with the restaurant’s signature tea. My jaw was wide opened when observing the tea server. The tea server had years of training, combining skills of Chinese Martial Arts, Dance and Gymnastics to perform elegant tea-pouring moves from a metre-long nose bronze kettle. I was told that the tea server had a degree in the art of tea pouring. It was truly a memorable dining experience. Everyone was excited upon every tea pouring. Just love Si Chuan Dou Hua

The Restaurant’s Signature Eight Treasure Tea

The Chinese tea served by the tea server was the Eight Treasure Tea which contained Wolfberries, Red Dates, Chrysanthemum, Rock Sugar, Jasmine, Dried Longan, Billy Bob and Winter Oats. I was informed that it helps to cool down the body while able to flush out the oil in the oily food away from our internal system. The Chinese believes it has the healing effect to the body too. The Eight Treasure Tea from Si Chuan Dou Hua is at RM55++ that comes in a set box of 8 boxes.

It was a change to have a more lighter dishes and also able to taste a different experience. We ordered the set for 6 persons which came with a moon cake platter as a sweet at the end of the dinner. My mates like the idea as the would like to try the mooncakes. We started off with the Yee Sang with additional finely sliced dates and also a hint of kaffir leaves.

It was truly fun to toast the Yee Sang over the Ramadan with my mates. We wished for a properous year with great health.

China Treasure

The newly reopening with great style recently was the China Treasures, the well-loved Halal fine dining Chinese restaurant in Sime Darby Convention Centre at Bukit Kiara. The restaurant was refurbished tastefully with subtle, contemporary decor influenced by oriental elegance and can now accommodate up to 150 persons.

I felt so at home having to able to watch the chefs cooking in style as it had its own new open kitchen that came with a large indoor aquarium filled with fish, oyster, lobster, geo ducks, prawns and crabs, just an amazing view while dining.

XENRI D’GARDEN TERRACE MIGF

Xentri D'Garden Terrace

Xenri D’Garden Terrace located at the podium block of Menara Hap Seng along P. Ramlee Road, Kuala Lumpur played as our host for the day. This time a few of us got to taste with pure pleasure on their MIGF Festival Signature Menu. This time Xenri D’Garden Terrace offered us a truly memorable journey featuring scrumptious medleys of textures, flavours and fine detailing presentation.
