Black Market Restaurant & Lounge Kuala Lumpur

Grand Jamon & Parma Platter

An invitation lunch with friends I dropped by at Black Market Restaurant (Kampung Pandan outlet). I was not too warm on that day and we picked a table just outside looking over the golf course. I was thirsty and had a ice lemon tea and a glass of chilled ice water. It was lunch and we had something light. To grace the table we had something nice and light, the Grand Jamon & Parma Platter (RM72)

Jamon Iberico, Jamon Serrano & Parma Ham

The spread was huge definitely enough for the 3 of us and the serving was good enough for 2-4 people. The platter came with Jamon Iberico, Jamon Serrano & Parma Ham. The Jamon Iberico slice was just terrific to indulge into. I had it with out the bread or sauce, having in it pure was filled with intensity. It was soft and just melts in my mouth, with a hint light saltiness. It was brilliant. I just love grazing at the intensity redness of this slices. Alluring fine lines of fats. As for Jamon Serrano, it was good. Tasty it was and had a great intense flavour. As for the Parma Ham it was slight firmer in texture and it was exciting to have.

A Glass of Montes Red 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon with Grand Jamon & Parma Platter

The Grand Jamon & Parma Platter definitely pairs well with a bottle of wine and kept each other a good company. I had a glass of Montes Red 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon. On its own, this wine is truly smooth that when well with my tasting palate. Love the present of light scented of berries and make my indulges with the thin slices of meat was so good. We were charged RM50 for our platter when we ordered a bottle of ordered wine. Do check with the restaurant for the details. (Black Market promo on Grand platter will run from July to end of August.)

3 Chefs’ Crispy Pork Ribs

The 3 Chefs’ Crispy Pork Ribs came crisp on the outer coating and looked brilliant. Bitten into the meat did got me wearing up a smile as it had a nice intense flavour. I bet this ribs had been marinated for hours in ‘Nam Yee’ fermented bean curd, slow cooked for 16 hours and deep fried to thin crisp according to their menu. The accompanied sauce is worth to mention, it was a hot sweet and sour light cream sauce, it was addictive too. Accompanied salad paired well too.

Having to glance the menu, Presa caught my attention and I knew I need to try it. This dish was filled with sliced air flown Spanish Iberico pork neck that was given a light grilled and was served on a small charcoal griller. I got say it had a fabulous texture, tender and soft. Having it laced with red wine sauce too gave a pork neck a good capturing of taste.

I found Black Market has an extensive menu and many dishes to pick to order. My lunch experience was good and it was a great relax lunching.
