I was back at Summer Palace this Goat year for a fabulous Chinese New Year dinner and celebrated with style, good food and fabulous friends. It’s easy to notice of Summer Palace ad it is just tucked nicely as the right hand side of the entrance Putrajaya Marriott Hotel. Had been a frequent guest to this restaurant and the food is always been consistence.
Summer Palace’s Prosperity Salmon Yee Sang stood so grand and very captivating on the dining table with lots of condiments like shredded pickles, fruits, vegetables, crackers, herbs and amazing delicious sauces. It was a true bedazzled dish to kick off the dinner. I knew its going be fabulous night.
To warm my soul and heart, I was showcased with a delightful bowl of doubled boiled chicken soup with a very nice sizeable abalone. It was amazing, having an abalone within my own bowl was such a fabulous treat of a sweet charming double boiled chicken soup. I also discovered dried scallop make an entrance in this delicious soup.
A Chinese gourmet always a must to have the spread of wholesome prawns and my night was flushed with huge baked tiger prawns cooked with pink peppercorns and brown sauce. It was stunning. The prawns were fresh and had a great biting texture and the sauce just ooze its way into the pan seared prawns perfectly. Lovely.
I loved the pieces of pomfret that got onto my plate, one coated with salted egg yolk and the other came with supreme soy. Both wre well prepped and both had its unique taste and I liked both very much. Texture were fresh and very appealing in taste.
Here chef also dished out a two way chicken, a roasted smoked chicken which tasted brilliantly. Nicely roasted. While another half baked with salt and its was very succulently in taste.
As for the braised sea cucumber, it was tenderly prepared and soft in texture. The dish was accompanied with black mushroom, sea moss and garden green. It was a jolly good.
That night we were served with a nicely fragrant baked rice topped with goose liver and golden garlic. The rice was fragrantly done and had a great aroma of taste and smell. I too love the present of the goose liver that was interesting.
As the nights getting to the end we had a nice sweet chilled mango cream with pomelo to end our dinner with a big smile. It was a fabulous Chinese New year dinner at Putrajaya Marriott Hotel
