The Master Chef Flaming Fish

I attended the opening of the 2nd outlet of Youmiqi recently located at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng. This outlet is not too difficult to spot, it tucked well on a black painted bungalow just along the main road. The launch started with a warm welcome of lion dance and a ribbon cutting by the owners and special guests. Then followed with the restaurant management team peeling of the roasted standing ovation chicken as to welcome the opening of the restaurant.

As for lunch we were ushered to the dining room upstairs for a lunch tasting. First dish that greeted us was their huge cooper wok set at the middle of the dining table. The wok itself was filled with a mixture of seafood coated with chili bean paste and then covered with a lid. The gas burner was lighted and as the heat was transferred the manager poured over the lid with Chinese cooking wine. Immediately a huge fire was whipped up while the seafood continued cooking. The Master Chef Flaming Fish graced the dinner immediately. The wok was uncovered and the broth was poured over. With in minutes the dish was ready to gourmet. The broth was superb delicious and came with intense flavour. Lovely.

Roasted Duck

The roasted duck was truly entertaining delicious, very pretty roasted till the meat was moist and tender. This bird was definitely a pleaser and make my day truly awesome. I truly lost count on how many pieces I had and I was left very happy indeed.

Roasted Chicken

The chicken was too perfectly roasted and had a great succulent biting texture. I just glad the bird was keep at my radar, moist and lovely to eat with a great mess. Finger licking good.

Fried Lotus Root, Long Beans & Black Fungus

Youmiqi’s lotus root, long beans and black fungus pan fried stuffed with mince meat were delicious prep and came with such a goodness.

Shunde Steamed Black Fungus

The Shunde Steamed Black Fungus was delicious cooked and I like the crisp texture of the black fungus. Well braised. The coating of the sauce did the trick too and make the dish even more tastier.

Stir Fried Long Bean & Eggplant

The stir fried long bean and egg plant too took a place on our tasting list, it was lovely and make tasty. Youmiqi food is good and definitely a great discovery unleashed.
