Had a great brunch recently at Ante Solaris Dutamas which truly charmed with great goodness. Nice cosy place to visit over a lazy weekend, free from work and hassle free. Just eat and coffee-ing plus a good company over chat and laughter. The food at Ante is brilliant, some can be very homey sweet just like mother’s cooking while some truly salivating fusion dishes. I love my latte served and looked charmingly. Delicious, definitely me a caffeine freak!
A table for five plus a kid was done up properly waiting for us to warm the seats, I was excited too. First on the table was this lovely Garden Duck Salad, loved the crisp biting texture yet very refreshing too. It came with a hinted saltiness of the smoked duck. Lovely start!
Caesar Salad was nice and no complain. It came with croutons, hard boiled eggs and crisp salad toasted over some homemade sauce.
Now the stealer of the morning was this Homemade Pork Nuggets that won 100%. It was good and came warm as it should be . . . .. got to confess it was made better than my mum’s. Opsss . . . . It was done moist and tender inside while crisp on the outside. Just brilliant !
Now now . . . . . Deep Fried Soft Poached Egg caught me by surprise. I like good creative food and simple like this one. Clever it was and showed an interesting technique being implemented here. A cleverly poached egg and then given a good nice deep fried seemed worked well with this dish that layer with bacon, bread and generous portion of salad. Definitely a cool stuff !
OMG! Their homemade gnocchi is just brilliant, a sure stunner. The texture was spot on to my liking while the Napoli sauce did a fabulous pairing, it was a salivating dish.
The rosti here came with great smell and had a nice gentle texture while paired up slices of Bratwurst sausages. Not a bad call!
The English Big Breakfast was quiet hefty for me alone and lucky we shared. It came with toasted bread, beaked tomato, tomato beans, fried mushrooms, bacon and scrambled egg. It was a good weekend big breakfast and I don’t need to do the cooking leave it to the chef! hahahahahahah……!
The Baked Eggs in Cocotte was a good ideal to have as I liked it here, soft and not too overly hard. The sauce coating add the texture and taste to this dish. Looking at it already excites me . . . . right! The Croque Madame looked really refreshing and it tasted good too.
Their Caramelised Garlic Olio played well too, taste real nice and filled with aroma, simple and tasty. Just another good dish to have.
The Ultimate Pork Belly Sandwich was a huge generous portion filled with wholesome pork belly . . . well I love pork belly, just can’t resist it.
I have a great liking for Carbonara, I like the smell that pungent my nostril with great aroma, cheese and milk. Here it was done just perfectly to my liking and played suiting-ly to my taste and preferences. The taste of the present of fried bacon can be so overwhelming too. Good buy! lol!
OMG! WHat I am having now . . . . hahahahahah . . . .. . something I seldom come across in such kind of restaurants, Confit Pork Ears. Wow! It was a shocker, a teaser and a seductress. It was not a bad idea and it was good but prefer to have it slight softer in texture. A very good attempt, lovely.
Wow after a great blast of dishes we dived into something sweet, desserts. We tried their Bread and Butter Pudding and I liked it. Not too overly sweet as that is how I prefer my desserts and the ice cream complimented it very well. Nice.
The apple crumble played well too and managed to solicit my taste buds and did it play well and win over my heart, lol! good dessert. Ante is definite on my recommended list over a lazy weekend or even a place for good dining and lunch with friends or business meet, I love Ante ! . .. . Sidney Kan
