It was really fabulous to have been invited to a private tasting and the invitation came from John Ross Junior Smoked Salmon and it was held at the Curious Goat, an artisan coffee place located at Damansara Perdana. Thanks to Borneo Harvest Kuala Lumpur I was chauffeured to a few wholesome finest selection of delicious smoked salmon directly flown in from Scotland. It was a nice casual and relaxing ambient flushed with good eating.
On John Ross Junior Smoked Salmon list there were about four variety of artisan smoked salmon and that evening we managed to grab the taste of exclusive three variation, the traditional and classic salmon, Whisky: smoked with Balvenie whisky and Tea smoked: infused with Lapsang Souchong tea. I love the freshness look of the three smoked salmon by John Ross Junior and the biting texture was just amazingly delicious. I got to confess that I was hooked with their whisky infused, I was intoxicated with its hinted whisky taste, brilliant. I just love its presentation and its definitely an easy to handle dish to make at home. The best part, it so easy to prepare and to eat and to enjoy.
At John Ross Jr., salmons are prepared the right way with lots of passion. Salmons are caught sustainably in the blue waters of Scotland then cured using authentic 19th century kilns and cold smoked over oak and beech chippings by their expert smokers. I was informed that John Ross Junior always ensure that their fish enjoyiss a delicately-balanced smokey flavour and a tender texture. My first bite was John Ross Junior Whisky Smoked Salmon was smashing as their whisky smoked salmon created by smoking the salmon with Balvenie whisky to enhance the sweetness, Definitely my favourite and I want it to pair up with my warm cooked scrambled egg.
Their tea smoked infused salmon too had a brilliant aroma and came with a bold smokey flavour and I loved on how gentle it work over my tasting that night. Having a dope of banana chutney on it, I was straight send to heaven with a few second of goodness pleasure. Yes it was so pleasurable and truly yummy.
The traditional classic John Ross Junior smoked salmon was irresistible. I just like the firmness crisp texture of my slice and I had it spread with dill sauce that worked very well with my pallet. Superb!
After the fantastic opening taste of John Ross Junior smoked salmon bites, we were pampered with The Curious Goat’s Panini creation that was stuffed with chicken sliced, tasty brie cheese and warm melting mozzarella and paired so brilliantly with John Ross Junior smoked salmon. It was truly classic.
To conclude the night we were graceful bow away with the Curious Goat delicious golden brownie with artisan Vanilla icecream. I was well pampered that evening and sipping a cuppa of Curious Goat coffee was truly divine.
