I just love having a morning dim sum over a few sipping of warm Chinese Pu’er tea. Such eating ritual is classic and this drive me over to Golden Dragonboat for a dim sum spread of fixation. We had tried out almost what on over and found it was good and tasty.
We ordered the Steamed Siew Mai with Crab Roe which had a great biting texture and smells good. It was refreshingly delicious. The Steamed Fish Paste looked very inviting and was sizeable, easy to biting into. The fish paste had a good bouncing texture and worked for well with my mouth, it was very likeable. The next plate of Bamboo Seafood Roll had an interesting taste, the dried bamboo pith played well with the present of seafood stuffing. Nice.
The Steamed Pork Ribs with Black Bean Sauce had a lovely soft and tender texture. It blended so well with a light black bean sauce and came a light refreshing sweetness. The Prawn Roll in Thai Style was very likeable, maybe the present of a touch of Thai sweetness and the prawns used had a good texture. Just jived well to my taste. Lovely!
I had half of the Honey BBQ Pork Bun, the encased bun was fluffy and light while the honey BBQ pork added a fabulous flavour and taste to it. The golden custard had the right balanced of sweetness that make the bun taste really good especially if you are bun person.
The Deep Fried Special Prawn Roll came crisp and light, a very mouth pleaser. The prawn filling was good aand goes well with some nice chilli sauce or their XO sauce. The Crispy Golden Bag can be very noticeable for its elegance on the plate, it tasted good.
The Deep Fried Prawn with Golden Sauce was good, very likeable. Hinted crisp outside and tenderly soft inside while the prawns filling was lovely.
The Lotus Paste Glutinous Ball was sizeable and fried to crisp with coat sesame seeds. The lotus paste was not overly sweet, just right. The BBQ Pork Puff came fluffy with a nice touch of BBQ pork. It was seducingly nice.
The Crispy Cheese Prawn Roll was brilliantly executed and the cheese melted well, blended well with the prawn fillings.
The Ham & Crab Fillet Roll with Cheese also not a bad choice to pick. The crab stick was soft and tender, its partner the ham played it well too by blended its flavour with the crab stick. Very nice.
The Deep Fried Carrot Cake had a nice texture, tenderly soft and topped with floss. The Special Crispy Yam Puff had a gorgeous crisp skin and gave a nice crunchy bites. The mashed yam was seasoned well and the fillings was spot on.
Their Steamed Rice Rolls are done perfectly, silky soft and the filling was really good especially the one filled with fresh water blue prawn paste. Yes it was gorgeous. The BBQ Pork was not too bad either.
As for desserts, there all looked stunning. The Sweet & Sour Jelly with Lime Sorbet, Special Pomelo Sago Cream, Greentea Pudding with Sesame Ice Cream and
Tropical Mango Pudding came out truly delicious as expected.
The Dim Sum here at Golden Dragonboat Restaurant is delicious good and truly suited my taste well. . . . . . . Sidney Kan
