“NOSTALGIA DO RE MI” InterContinental Kuala Lumpur Celebrated All-day Dining Restaurant,Serena Brasserie Launches P. Ramlee Inspired Berbuka Puasa Buffet
Commemorate the holy month of Ramadan with an authentic taste of nostalgia at InterContinental Kuala Lumpur’s Serena Brasserie as the esteemed restaurant launches P. Ramlee inspired buffet feast showcasing the finest spread of Berbuka Puasa favourites available from June 28 to July 25, 2014.
Star of the show this Ramadan, relive the bygone years of the late Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr P. Ramlee with an evening of ambience and elegance. To honour the entertainment icon, Serena Brasserie transforms into a showcase of the beloved artiste’s songs, films, and styled to the theme. Delivering its usual first-class service and excellence, the service team adds on to the yesteryears’ nostalgia geared up in 50’s costumes.
Drawing inspiration from the legend, Executive Malay Chef Razak coupled with Chef de Cuisine, Mohd Zalizam with over 40 years of culinary experience combined in Malay specialities brings forth finest spread of renowned dishes. As chef’s endeavour to present a variety of specialities throughout the fasting month, there will be seven different berbuka puasa menus on weekly rotation.
The lavish ‘One Thousand and One Journey of Laksamana (Admiral) Do, Re, Mi’ buffet integrates extra sensory dining experience with live cooking stations, authentic Malay specialities, Asian and Continental favourites, and ample of dessert for a sweet ending.
Discover ‘Do’s Magic Carpet Selections’ of local stall favourites such as roasted and steamed ‘Nasi Ayam En. Jamil’; ‘Gerai Roti Pendekar Mustar’ stall featuring roti john, roti jala and murtabak complete with dhall and vegetable curry; ‘Asam Pedas Madu Tiga’ stall; fresh off the grill, chef prepares ‘Ikan Bakar Husin Lempoyang’ and ‘Otak-otak Kampung Dusun’; ‘Satay Haji Bakhil’ with condiments; ‘Sotong Kangkung Ahmad Albab’ with condiments and traditional ‘Warung Goreng-goreng Cik Manisah’ for keropok lekor and goreng pisang.
The flavoursome rotational dishes of ‘Re’s Telescopic Arrays’ are generously spiced and includes ‘Aneka Kerabu Kampong Pening Lalat’, a medley of kerabu and jeruk; ‘Sup Pasir Bedenggung’ featuring Malay oxtail soup, tom kha gai soup, soup tulang rawan; ‘Hidangan 40 Penyamun’ showcasing sambal udang petai; udang galah masak tempoyak; ikan siakap 3 rasa; gulai kawah; kari kambing dengan kentang; ayam masak merah; ayam perchik; sotong goreng kunyit; kari kepala ikan and Chef Zam’s signature Rendang Tok made from his family’s generation of closely guarded recipe that will be making an appearance to entice all guests.
Highlights of the menus are Chef Razak’s ultimate ‘Kambing Bakar Saddiq Sigaraga’, carvery of roasted whole lamb seasoned with garlic and thyme with roasted potatoes and garlic rosemary sauce; lamb shank cooked with cumin and tomato; and the ambrosial rice corner of ‘Tiup Bangsi Hikmat’ presenting chicken beriyani, lamb shank beriyani with condiments or Jeera Pulao with lamb shank masala.
Enjoy the specialized noodle bar at ‘Warung Mee Labu dan Labi’ with great selection of noodles to go with assorted vegetables, poultry and seafood. Delight in wok-fried noodles or go with hearty broth of prawn mee, tom yam or chicken Thai.
In addition to savouring the local dishes, ‘Santapan Menteri Fassolla’ hosts international flavours such as chicken tandoori; stir-fried chicken “Kung Po” style; smoked BBQ chicken qing; seafood napolitana; buttered prawns; stir-fried prawns with salted egg yolk and stir-fried tiger prawns with Thai chilli.
Round off the evening with refreshing beverage selection of teh tarik, Nescafe tarik, air bandung, air tebu, air selasih, air soya and titillate your taste buds with ‘Mi’s Sweet Harmonica’ of luscious dessert masterpieces pulling from local and international confectionary. Relish in the spread of fruits mille feuille, pandan cheesecake, black forest cake, opera cake, panna cotta pistachio as well as ‘Kedai Kuih Ibu Mertuaku’ with tapai, putu piring, assorted dodol, kuih lopes, tepung pelita, date cake, assorted malay kuih, sago gula melaka with palm sugar and coconut milk, Malay raya cookies, assorted premium dates, assorted mixed fruits and ABC ‘Ice Kacang Chombi’ stall with ice-cream.

The berbuka puasa buffet at Serena Brasserie is available June 28 to July 25, 2014 from 6.30pm to 10.30pm priced at RM120++ per adult on the 1st week (June 28 – July 6) and 4th week (July 21 – July 25) , and RM138++ per adult on the 2nd week (July 7 – July 13) and 3rd week (July 14 – July 20).
