Set in one of KL’s newest hotels, the Grill 582 at BEST WESTERN PREMIER Dua Sentral, Grill 582 is the place to come for prime cuts of meat and a classic delicious crafted dishes executed by Chef SITI ARINI DARSOM herself. This restaurant serves up a very delectable good classic yet ambient and definitely a place to chill out after a long day at work.. The dimly lit interior, minimalistic design and polished tile and hardwood floors adds a seductive visual element to the pristinely presented dishes.
The first dish that came over to tickle me with my lust was Chef’s Foie Gras Mousse, “Avruga Caviar” Smoked Olive Oil. It was very light in taste and yet fluffy in texture. Silky smooth as it was crafted, as my palate is must strong and I wished chef would have added mine with a piece of hard knocked foie gras and for sure it will kept me in totally silence. well it was the beginning, so I am sure more surprises will be on its way. The pairing wine was excellent to begin with as I like its smooth flavour and suiting so well with the mousse crafted by Chef Siti. Miguel Torres Hermisfero, Sauvignon Blanc, Chile 2010 played very well, smart pairing and it did not overpowered the dish and brings out the flavour of the mousse itself. Played WELL !
The Seafood Bouillabaisse with Freshwater Crayfish, Coconut Cream and Lemongrass was keep to the right taste and not too overpowering. At this point I noticed chef herself is kind on using local produce and having it to infused in her coking for example here lemongrass was placed to instigate the palate of its guests like myself and I love it. The soup itself came bursting with sea freshness and had a strong present of scented prawn that was very delightful.
The atmosphere can’t be help that night, it was really romantic and having the next mouth cleanser, it added the feel. Yes I was served with Chef’s creation the Lime Granitas with Seawater Air. The glass itself was filled with lime grantinas and half the top was filled with salted bubbles. It was so lovely to see and it was exciting to spoon into. Light salted bubbles just got me excited. Just felt like fingers running across my body teasing me. The chilled lime granitas was so delicious and I enjoyed those moments.
The dover sole was plated beautifully placed covered with a striking yellow mustard sabayon sauce. The texture of the sole was not overly hard but had a great structure of itself. Mine was done perfectly and the present of fishiness was not detected. Nice. This fish dished was paired with De Bertoli, Chardonnay, Australia 2011 and it gave the dish an wholesome beautiful taste. I truly enjoyed it.
The Lamb was really good, well I definitely not going to complaint of having a beautiful sous vide piece of lamb. It was so tenderly soft in texture and went so well with its accompanied sauce. The roasted cherry tomatoes was deliciously done and I had them all cleaned. It was definitely a delicious crafted lamb and was paired with a delicious red De Bortoli, Shiraz, Australia 2009
To end the dinner, Chef Siti truly pulled it off with great style, her Chilled Chocolate Chilli Chiboust is t die for. It was really terrific as smooth strong present of chocolate and left a spike of hot chilli taste in one’s mouth. Yes it was really good piece of plated dessert. Greatly executed. Thumbs up. The Balbi Saprani Moscato D’Asti DOCG, Piemonte Italy 2008 had no problem with me as I am a mid sweet white wine drinker and I like it. Having the whole bottle would be a great idea.
Chef SITI ARINI DARSOM is definitely an up rising star in the gourmet scene of Kuala Lumpur. Her crafting is so refinely executed and I am sure you will love her cooking creations too. I DO ! . . . . Sidney Kan
