McDonald’s Breakfast Day saw McDonald’s opening its doors to offer a FREE Egg McMuffin to the first 1,000 customers at every McDonald’s Breakfast Restaurant nationwide. McDonald’s rally call to all Malaysians to join the movement to make a good breakfast an essential part of a great morning culminated in the resounding success of the McDonald’s Breakfast Day.

From 7am to 10am, each of the 215 McDonald’s Breakfast Restaurants nationwide hosted Malaysians from all walks of life, to enjoy a Free Egg McMuffin.

On hand at the Mutiara Damansara Drive-Thru restaurant to give out the first Egg McMuffin of the day was Managing Director of McDonald’s Malaysia and Regional Manager of McDonald’s Malaysia & Singapore, Sarah Casanova, who said, “We are pleased that McDonald’s Breakfast Day has resonated so strongly with Malaysians. The idea behind McDonald’s Breakfast Day is to reinforce the importance of starting the day with a freshly prepared breakfast. By offering Malaysians breakfast on us – we want to start a breakfast movement and rally people to make a good breakfast an essential part of a great morning. And today Malaysians have demonstrated that the quality taste of McDonald’s breakfast served hot, fresh and on-the-go is worth waking up for!”

The first customer at Mutiara Damansara Drive-Thru restaurant was Winston Dela Paz and his family from Puchong. “My children were very excited about the free Egg McMuffin given by McDonald’s. I’m not a morning person but they woke me up early this morning to join the McDonald’s Breakfast Day celebration.”

“The advertisement of McDonald’s celebrating the most important meal of the day by giving away free Egg McMuffin came to our attention. We planned our way to the McDonald’s restaurant at Centrepoint for breakfast only to find out that the line was extremely long at that location though it was just 7am. We decided to try our luck on another McDonald’s restaurant and here we enjoyed our Egg McMuffin,” enthused retirees Chye Low Hin and his spouse Cheng Ah Thye.

“We visit McDonald’s for breakfast on a regular basis. Much to our surprise, we were given free Egg McMuffin today in conjunction with McDonald’s Breakfast Day celebration. It is undoubtedly a good way to encourage Malaysians to wake up to breakfast,” said Nora Shieken, a mother to Nur Syaqerah and Aqiel Harith.

For those who missed out on the free Egg McMuffin due to overwhelming response and as a reward to McDonald’s Breakfast Day supporters, Simply look out for the vouchers in your local daily newspapers, cut them out and present them at your nearest McDonald’s Breakfast Restaurant.

With this breakfast movement, McDonald’s Malaysia will continue to play an active role in encouraging Malaysians to have their breakfast for a great start to a great morning!
