A Red Wedding Cake with Yellow Peonies by Sunny Yaw
I had been away, quietly picking up more skills. Looking for more new inspiration. This time I manage to group up a small wedding cake collection. I just love flowers peonies. roses and orchids played an amazing visualization in this recent cake sculptures of mine.
My current season first cake sculpture, pleating of reds was used. It truly had a great impact on both tiers. Visual of waves came to play in my mind. To take away the visual concentration, I placed a huge striking yellow peony to balance the weightage. Another two at the lower tier.
The pleatings were not easy to construct. Layer after layer it went. Drying time was needed. Pleats need holding too. Tissues. That took the most the time. Peonies were done earlier.
Two tiers can be a killer. But I think adding anothe two more will look even gorgeous.
Another exciting sculpture . . . . . Sunny Yaw ! I am back
