A Valentine”s Day at The Mix Holiday Inn Glenmarie


The Valentine’s Day Set Menu at The Mix caught me with such a fabulous delight. Going at RM 90++ per person on the 14th February 2012 is truly a fabulous bargain. You may ask why. well you going to enjoy having a salad, fabulous delicious soup, specially prepared main course, dessert and coffee or tea. The restaurant also will be serving each couple a glass of wine and a single stalk of rose for the lovely lady of the night.


I just love to be seated in the Mix while enjoying my dinner with true comfort especially thier modern cosy interior. Not only that, the in-house band truly perform very well, from R&B to Pop music. That part I enjoyed most.

Lychee Mojito

I am sure evryone has their specil drink at their special venue and here my favourite would be their Lychee Mojito and even the waiter knew what my drink would be. So personalized!

Moroccan Grilled Chicken Salad

The first dish on their Valentine Menu would be the Moroccon Grilled Chicken Salad that came with tomato, celery, cucumber, corriander apricot and mint. I just loved it as it was light, crisp and refreshing. I liked the discovery of balsamic vinegar that glazed the plate that gave the salad a unique taste till I wiggled my tongue for more. The chicken was rolled nicely and tasted with a touch of tenderness.

Wild Mushroom Soup

NOW I got to confessed that I had two of the next dish, the Wild Mushroom Soup topped with a dashed of herbs cream and planted next on the plate was a thin sliced dried garlic bread with was totally gorgeous but I still caught with the soup. It may looked like a small portion but babe it was a lot as the soup plate had a great depth. I just love the strong taste, refined testure and the bursting frangance that captured my desire. Yes it was really good. I can’t imagine that I was spooning it one after another till the soup palate was left hanging dry. I played evil.

Atlantic Grilled Salmon and Baked Cod

I am a meat person but I managed to capture the fisherman catch and the creation was specially dish up by the chef himself, the Atlantic Grilled Salmon and Baked Cod. I got to admit that it was beautifully done as thought it was two in one, half salmon and half cod. The fish was bind together with wrapping it with vegetable and then grilled and baked, truly interesting. The dish came with sauteed spinach asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes

Oven Baked Chicken Roulade and New Zealand Rack of Lamb

My plate of lOven Baked Chicken Roulade and New Zealand Rack of Lamb came yonaise potatoes , roast root vegetables and rosemary shitake jus was pretty placed. I like the juiicy tender oven baked roulade which taste good to my expectation while the lamb was just left to its best! Nice.

Fudge Brownie Melt with Ice Cream

Dessert was well thought and went very well with ice cream. The fudge brownie was not too sweet, done just the way I like it. :) It was truly a lovely night and for sure it will be a fabulous night for celebrating a vantine night! . . .. I get to taste it with such excitement, Sidney Kan

The Mix, a myriad of pleasures to chilled out and enjoy luscious cocktails, food, music and some R&R after a long’s day work. I loved their 80s music played that night before the live band which brings back so much memories of my early years!!
