Now . . . . I think I am having pretty great fun with Yee Sang. Almost everyday I am making a date with it and everytime its different. This time I had a Yee Sang with Hokkaido Scallops topped with a touch of edible gold paper. The huge dining hall with tall ceiling was decorated with beautiful coloured paper lanterns.

I just loved the colour spread across the plate of Yee Sang making it looked colourfully attractive and with such a great sexy appealing, you just can’t wait of not giving it a bite. Once everything is put in place, the ritual of tossing begins! :)

It was definite a fun tossing ritual to begin in any meal that only happens once a year during the festive of the Chinese New Year. I just loved it till bits. Having the first bite can be so erotic – sweet, crisp, tender, soft. sillky and smell deliciously unique.

To usher the festive, we begin the meal with a fabulius start. The first showcase was the Dragon Boat, Sea Cucumber with stuffing which was superbly crafted. who would not want at bite into the sea cucumber with filled with healty collagen which works great for fabulous skin complexion. Nice strong texture and complimented with a thick tasty brown sauce.

Next cane the clear double boiled soup with shark fin, Japanese scallop and fish maw. Lovely brewed and left with a great light sweet taste, definitly very refreshing.

Then came Victor who charmed most of the ladies with his magic tricks. I got to say Victor did a great job, he was wickedly funny and very entertaining,

The chicken dish was refinely executed that came with two different taste, one was the deep fried stuffed chicken skin, It may looked simple but a lot of effort and time is needed to create this dish. the was the stir-fried chicken with pin nut seeds with hoi sin sauce which turn out to be very addictive dish. Nice.

The next abalone dish was truly perfect. We had braised black moss and dried oyster topped over cabbage and came with lots of whole abalones. It was fabulous delicious and I had two of them. Fabulous!

We also had the great pleasure to bite into the steamed estuary garupa over shreded ginger and dried orange peel. It worked out very well with my taste like, simple and tasty, lushed with fabulous supreme soya sauce. Having the jelly texture of the fish skin is a must, filled with fabulous collagen.

Huge fresh prawns were paraded right infront of me, there were huge and covered with loads of charming orangy prawn roe. The prawns were very tasty and fresh and we had the plate clean within seconds, yes it was really good! Can just charm any guests.

We were served with a huge pot of claypot rice that came with waxed duck and mushroom. It was good plus fragrant too and I managed to have a bowl as I was pretty full by then! :)

I just love the dessert, not overly sweet and taste rather refreshing.

The prosperous Yee Sang toss can also be enjoyed from the comfort of your home as Master Chef Lee’s Prosperity Yee Sang is available for takeaway at the Hotel’s Gourmet Counters located at West Lake Garden, Fuzion and Atrium Cafe as well. Also made available for takeaway is the Roasted Beijing Duck, Glutinous Rice with Waxed Meat and also, a 6-bottle Assortment of Nuts, perfect for gifting or to be served to visiting guests.

Practicing the customary gift-giving ritual, diners will be given a door gift upon their arrival to make the arrival of the New Year. But that’s not all, making a special appearance at the Hotel is the God of Prosperity, Choy Sun Yeh, who will be blessing diners with Mandarin Oranges in celebration of this auspicious occasion.

The set menu will be available twice a day, for lunch and dinner, from 8 January until 6 February at West Lake Garden Chinese Restaurant. Lunch is served from 12 noon to 2.30pm from Mondays to Saturdays and from 10.00am to 2.30pm on Sundays and Public Holidays. Opening hours for dinner are from 6pm to 10.30pm on Mondays to Sundays. For those who do not fancy set meals, the restaurant will also be serving up Master Chef Lee’s Specialities in the ala carte menu to satisfy the needs of their diners. :)
