Arthur’s Day 2011 was an explosive success with more than 20,000 fans in attendance at the concert held in Speed City Kuala Lumpur on the 23rd of September 2011. The culmination of the 24 hour global celebration here in Kuala Lumpur featured an EPIC live music concert by international music supremo – TAIO CRUZ and a stellar cast of local and regional acts such as SOLER, Mizz Nina, Dragon Red, Prema Yin, the Kartel group featuring Joe Flizzow, Take-T from Japan and Dandee from Thailand.

Taio’s performance certainly took the crowd to HIGHER grounds with his Dynamite performance. “I am delighted to be part of the Arthur’s Day celebrations. Every year since it began in 2009 it’s been an EPIC celebration and this year was no exception. It was awesome to meet and party with my fans here in Malaysia. Prema Yin is not only an accomplished singer but she is also one of the rare breed of singer/song writer and has been composing her own songs since she was 14. Her songs are created from her past experiences, random thoughts, imagination and life itself. And now, after 5 years of her venturing into the music scene, she has finally decided to record her own songs which she hopes to share with music lovers.

This year, as a reward from GUINNESS® Malaysia for a great 252 years, fans and consumers needed to attain these money-can’t-buy exclusive invites to the event. More than 20,000 fans partied the night away at the concert this year.

“The event was a truly exciting experience. All the way from the moment we entered the venue with the larger than life globe that represents all 40 countries worldwide who will be joining the celebrations to the staging of the event. It was amazing. We really had a great time” said Danny Chua, a GUINNESS® fan who attended the event.

Beginning at the tender age of only eight, and supported by a family which appreciated artistic expression, MizzNina dove headlong into the world of hip hop music and never looked back. With her musical influences – MC Lyte, Run DMC, Lauryn Hill, Talib Kweli and The Roots, among others – on full display everyt time she’s on the mic or on the decks, the scene has embraced MizzNina’d distinct take on the art of rhythm and poetry.

Gain tutelage from The Singing Shop in PJ, she moved onto underground hip hop gigs and college shows in 1996, impressing such late 90s giants as Poetic Ammo. In 1997 she formed First Born Troopz with Fiquetional, with whom she would later co-found the Teh Tarik Crew in 1999. It was with the TTC that her musical career truly took off, with two AIM nominations in 2002 and a radio show of her own on WOW FM, Wow Vibe.

More recently, MizzNina has branched out into the international scene with hit songs such as “What You Waiting For” with Colby O’Donis & “Take Over” with Flo Rida.

At the end of the night, as part of GAB’s Drink sensibly initiative, partygoers were treated to free water and wind down at the chill out zone with food and drinks. They also had the chance to learn about the drinking sensibly through interactive games and activities.

The Band which was the mastermind of Landslyde, of the former Poetic Ammo fame, started out at the end of 2001 with guitarist Jack, vocalist Adam Lobo, Manshaan Singh on the drums and Camero on Bass.

In terms of the Band’s musical concept, the Band incorporates elements of rock, hip hop, punk, and contemporary fusion rock into their music styles. The band has won the AIM award for Best New English Artiste. They recently release their latest album “Resureksi” in June 2010. “No Turning Back” debut number 10 on’s Malaysian English Top 10 Chart.

The Kartel Made Men represents the entire roster of artists from one of Asia’s mostprominent hip-hop labels, Kartel Records. The group was founded in 2010 by Joe Flizzow and consists of Altimet, DJ Ash, DJ Biggie, DJ Cza, DJ Nas-T, Ila Damiaa, Micbandits and SonaOne.

In November 2010, Kartel Made Men released its debut self-titled album made available via Digital Download (in collaboration with JUICE Magazine), Audio CD and Mobile Download. This 11 track album featured collaborations with South-East Asia’s biggest hip-hop stars such as Thaitanium, Sheikh Haikel and Dandee. The lead single “Who Do It Better” featuring the artists Joe Flizzow, Altimet and SonaOne reintroduced the spotlight on lyrical content and became one of the most defining hip-hop tracks of 2010/2011.

The Kartel Made Men DJs also founded Kuala Lumpur’s hottest hip-hop night “The Get Up” at Rootz Club KL. They continue to rock out to a maximum capacity crowd every Thursdays and Saturdays at Rootz Club on a weekly basis making them the most successful hip-hop DJ collective in Malaysia history.

This Arthur’s Day 2011, Taio Cruz break hearts and blow up the stage like dynamite with his smooth vocals, charismatic stage presence and killer good looks.

London born 26 year-old Taio Cruz is already one of the biggest stars to emerge from the U.K., with his debut album, “Departure” going gold there. “Break Your Heart” featuring Ludacris, the first single from his Mercury/IDJMG debut, Rokstarr, climbed to #1 on the U.S Billboard Hot 100 in March 2010.

A multi-faceted artist capable of not only R&B, hip-hop, electro and dance, but indie rock and, especially pop, Taio Cruz has shown his versatility in songs like “”Falling in Love” with its Coldplay-esque melodies and the throbbing, salacious rave-tinged track, “Dirty Picture”, with Ke$ha.

Dubbed the new Babyface, Taio Cruz is an in-demand producer/writer and has collaborated with artistes like Leona Lewis, Britney Spears, Flo Rida, and hit British act Sugababes, for which he received a best single nomination at the prestigious British Mobo awards.
