TATSU Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur

TASTU, one of the newest Japanese Restaurant in town
At recent I was invited to the unviel the town’s latest newly renovated upscale Japanese restaurant TATSU at the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur. Tastu-ijn means expert that carved the name for this restaurant which brings a sophisicated element to the traditional dining experience. The decor of the restaurant emphasis on the royal blue to reflect the diverse Oriental Japanese influences combined with the layer of Shoji inspired screen with rich hues and soft light provides an intimate yet elegant and tranquil dining ambience. The interior here is further enhanced with unique concept of having sake bottles and cups as wall decorative.
With a seating capacity of 147 seats. TATSU will boasts five choices of dining styles from the Sushi Bar, a Teppanyaki Room, private rooms, public dining area to cozy lounge. For those who appreciate the finer things in life, there is a private Sake Bar encompasses by intricately designed glass windows offering a breathtaking view of lush garden landscape and cascading waterfall.

Eel, Avacado, Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab Sushi Roll
INDULGED. The first entrement that arrived on the table with its elegance and beauty. Colourfully layered. I like the firmness of rice roll, crisp of the fried soft shell and the softness, yet smoothness of thinly sliced avocado. Enriched with “unagi” eel. Perfect entree.
Yet another cleverly constructed with the use of yam. I like the saltiness infused with miniture dried pan fried anchovies. Done in one bite, just the perfection I liked. A warm and delicious bite.

Tiger Prawn and Eryngi Mushroom Saute Topped with Japaneese Gravy Soba Sauce
Freshness is a must, The tiger prawn was perfectly pan-fried and Eryngi mushroom too was delisious sautee more over laced with Japanese gravy soba sauce. Simple yet filled with temptation.

Foie Gras Steak in Cod Fish Teriyaki
Seafood, freshness came with the cod done carefully with cod fish over triyaki sauce. Surprised. It had infused with Foie Gras. I just love having to bite into it. Just the perfect texture.

Tatsu’s Volcanic Stone Grilled Wagyu Beef
Simplicity was showcased here with just having the Wagyu Beef grilled perfectly till slightly caramelised and I had mine medium rare. An interesting showcase having my wagyu beef done by myself!

Grilled Foie Gras with Mini Rice
I just got crazy with the caramelisation of the grill foie gras, hinted sweetness and went well with the rice. Perfect.

Mixed Dry Fruit Tempura served with Chocolate and Redbean Fondue
Something unique with their desert a melted warm chocolate with infused red bean paste, dipped over tempura fruit. Lovely and so likeable.
. . . . That night was just perfect, dining here a TASTU will be such a pleasureable thing to do. Love it to bits, Sidney Kan
TATSU opens daily for lunch and dinner featuring set lunches, bento boxes and a comprehnesive a la carte menu for both lunch and dinner. The menus are cleverly created by Master Chef Yanagda and with a lost of beverage such as sake, wine spirits, alcohol, soft drinks and juices to complement te menu. Sevred with a varied of Jaanese tea while the desserts are unique here.
