I alway adore dining here at China Treasures, great decor and the food is lovely. I also notice that their lunch can be very busy even during the working days. Recently I was invited by China Treasures and Everyday.com.my to try out their dim sum a la carte buffet which showcased a total of 48 different types of variation ranging from steamed, deep fried and even braised. Since China Treasures is a halal restaurant, I always bring muslim friends over to dine with me occasionally.

The Spread of Dim Sum

Everytime when I am geared for Dim Sum, I will first order two things. Here at China Treasures I ordered Steamed “Har Kow” Crystal Shrimp Dumpling and Steamed “Siew Mai” Chicken Dumpling. Why this two? For a simple reason most of the main ingredient used in Dim Sum would be shrimps and chicken. If both are fresh and tasty then you can assume the rest of the Dim Sum is as good too.

The Steamed Chicken “Siew Mai” with Fish Roe was truly delicious to begin with and make sure it is served warm. Great texture with thin wrapper and bursting with flavor. Interesting to know the taste is as good as the one make from minced pork. Next was the Crystal Shrimps Dumpling which had a refreshing taste and too overly powering and works great with the chilli dips right infront of me. At one point I was truly amazed with thier “Sui Kow” in clear broth which was just superb and I wanted them all by myself. Yes there were really excellent. I am sure this one can tame the in-laws.

I was suprised to see the Whole Seafood Dumpling served in Superior Stock was served in the menu. I was totally delighted because it was my favourite. Definitely it is not cheap. My eating companion ordered a plate of slice century eggs with pickled ginger and it was not too bad but I prefer those with compared egg yolk rather too jellified. The Stewed Duck Wings with Soy Sauce was lovely, soft, tenderly done and very tasty too.

I just adore thier deep fried Dim Sum. The fillings were fresh while the deep frying technique was really good, there were golden brown and not too oily. Their Deep Fried Prawn Dumplin with Salad Sauce is a must have while the Deep Fried Prawn Wrapped with Crispy “Dragon Beard” can just seduce you without any effort. I like their Deep Fried Yam Paste with Chicken, tasty as always.

if you are havng the Dim Sum don’t forget to order their Steamed Buttered and Saited Egg Yolk Bun, a must and its my favourite. How can you resist those oozing out melted buttery egg yolk cream. It was just perfect!

Beside the Dim Sum, if you have some space do try thier “La Mian” Hand Pulled Noodle at additional RM5 per bowl. I tried their La Mian with Chilli Oil in Beef Brisket Soup, it was just terrific. Definitely a real bargain and I just love it too bits especially those mouth melting beef brisket. wow! did i say that . . . . .

Definitely China Treasures at Sime Darby Convention Centre serves one of the best “Halal” Dim Sum in town and now you can get a fabulous bargain at www.everyday.com.my!
