Back to Kampong Baru Sungai Buloh, a little quiet village that encapsulating such a fabulous variation of cooking. This time I crawled myself into yet another exciting indulgence of feast over a comfort and affordable dinner. Not a new kid in town, had a handful recommendation by foodies, Yin Her or Silver River was my next stop. Unique point of this place, it is located next to a fishing pond.
About five of us, rice over dinner is a usual do, therefore we had order a few dishes. First dish was the deep fried mantis prawn coated with salted egg yolk. Nice meaty texture with a touch of moist. Crisp crunch on the outside too. Having to taste the saltiness and powdery refeshing flavour of the salted egg yolk can be so appetizing. Something to keep us craving for more.
Well this is such a debateable dish, I meant the fish head curry. My neighbours was raving about it especially Sunny, practically he drank the curry as though he was indulging a bowl of soup. While Leo support his liking. As for me and Jennifer we find it rather to diluted and bodiless as I preferred mine with the refinement of thick lscious cocnut milk. Well I can’t denied it was tasty but strangely I felt there were short of chunky meaty garoupa. I wanted more.
As it went with the flow came the next irresistable dish which I find it really delicious done to my liking. Having soft dried mashed pumpkin refinely laced over the deep fried battered chicken can so damn inviting. Have one after another one showed how delicious it was. I was munching it witch such pleasure. Was it an orgasmic experience, well I don’t really know but it was really good.
Caramelised cooked bbq ribs can be so succulently nice, biting and licking it over and over again can be such a ritual thing to act upon. I was left iwth such a crazy fighting over the last piece. I like them being placed over a aluninium foil in order to retain the warmness. It was succulently prepared. let me with such a sweet thought!
Now this is something interesting. Such a simple bunch of spinach done with such a class. Looked expensive to me. Poached spinach yet crisp laced over a thick hairs of egg gravy which caught my typical taste bud with such a delight. It had its own uniqueness taste, flavour, soft and tenderness in texture.
As for the beancurd dish, the topping filled with minced preserved vegetable was tasty but the beancurd texture was rather rough as I believe it was overly steamed and created bubbles in it and therefore ending with a rought and rather siky soft texture.
Dining here at Yin Her was nice and relaxing as the sound of running water can easily comfort you with indulging delicious food churned from their kitchen . . . . . . . . . . . had a great time, Sidney Kan
