I just love discovering awesome food here at my nearby neighnourhood. We crawled for more most desireable food and this time we stop at Khunthai Restaurant just next door to MCY Restaurant . Yes we had Thai cuisine this time and we had a great time indulging to the food.

Khunthai Coconut
Whole Fragrant Coconut

Sipping into a such fragrant cooler was truly indulging while waiting for our dishes. It was a whole fragrant young coconut. Smooth and refreshing. Here the rice are served in a beautiful huge stainless steel pot. As to keep us buay with food we ordered some Sen Kee Satay jwho happened to be just next door. Brilliant and fabulous to start the eveing with. So luscious!

Khunthai Pandan Chicken
Pandan Chicken

First came was their Pandan Chicken. Well marinated and wrapped with pandan leafs. Very fragrant and truly appealing with having some rice. I felt it was a left a biit long in the deep fryer as it was a bit dry. A bit over deep fry as there were left with little moisture in the chicken texture. But it was nice. :)

Khunthai Otak Otak
Otak-Otak

The seafood Otak-otak was truly elegant in taste and presentation. Orangy as it must, a natural colouring from the yellow ginger root plus the strong fragrant from it and other herbs. A steamed/ baked dish with mixed seafood marinated with asian herbs and combined with whisk eggs definitely a satisfying dish that evening. I find the Thai Otak-otak has it unique taste, very differ from our local nyonya version. Both is truly beautiful and both is truly as good as they are. For me I will have both! :)

Khunthai Mixed Seafood White Tom Yam
Mixed Seafood White Tom Yam Soup

OMG! I am lost with words on how to discribe their Mixed Seafood White Tom Yam Soup. For one, it was the BEST white tom yam soup I ever had tasted here in Kuala Lumpur. Every time I visit any Thai eatery, white tom yam soup will be my list of ordering. I try not to request red tom yam as some places may use pre-mix or bottle paste to prepare the red tom yam and may face disappointment but usually natural fresh ingredeints would be used in white tom yam. Here at Khuntai, their white tom yam was truly refreshing, very limey in luscious zest. You will definitely be expected of having continues spooning of such delightful soup. Definitely a multiple thumbs up for this one ! A must have!

Khunthai Gaeng Som FIsh
Gaeng Som Fish

When it comes to fish, that we ordered Gaeng Som Fish, a deep fried fish dressed with tamraind juice soup over a sizzling hot plate. It was different compared to what we usually ordered at our favourite Thai restaurant (we usually ordered our lime poarched fish). It had a very own distinctive taste and a strong sourness sweet in taste. I like the use of tamarind juice in this dish, it was different and yet captured my attention in taste, brilliant!

I just love their dishes and I missed ordering some other delicious dishes here such as omelette with Thai herbs, green curry and many more. Definitely I will be back for another feast here at Khunthai . . . . . . . it was such an awesome gourmet thrill here at Khunthai, Sidney Kan
