Fei Fei Crab Restaurant Desa Aman Puri
I just adore the food in this neighbourhood. Exciting and just so delicious. I had dealt with Khuntai with exquiste pleasure with their White Ton Yam, MYC Restaurant for their gorgeous Ginger Steamed Chinese Carp, fabulous Duck Satay at Seng Kee. Just across yet not far in the same area I got to indulge with the best and affordable PORK KNUCKLE at Deutsches Gasthaus 5 and authentic yet affordable Bukit Tinggi homecooking at Moon Sing Restaurant. I guess I am still at the surface of knowing this area as I found yet more exciting places to explore, to eat and enjoyed with great pleasure. I found Fei Fei Crab at Desa Aman Puri which I now name the area as the hub for good food.
It’s truly exciting when you know that good food will be served. It happened here at Fei Fei Crab Restaurant. I realised that I knew the chef/owner of this restaurant Chef Tan who had worked closely with Master Chef Steven Cheng. First dish, Belacan Ikan Bilis Baby Sweet Potato Leafs with Egg Plant was beautifull prepared. A very strong flavour dish and came with such variety of texture. Crips, tneder and softness from the cooked egg plant. It had a great level of spicyness that twitted my taste bud. It jived well with my liking. Excellent.
Tender it was with the Japanese snail. So well coated with tasty buttered sauce. Every bite was such a pleasure. Lovely and I wouldn’t mnd of having another plate of this well refinely cooked buttered Japanese snail. Goes very well with white rice.
My guests were raving about this rib that just tasted fantastic, moist and very flavoursome. A long section of the rib that had been carefully put into taste with great seasoning. The accompanied fresh pound chilli dip was fabulous and just excellent. I couldn’t not resist of not oredering another plate. Just explodes in my mouth. Beautiful done.
The next fish dish the Cencaluk Deep Fried Talapia Fish was interesting and bursting with truly strong flavour. The Talapia was at a very sizeable size and great being deep fried. I love cincaluk, a fremented small little baby shrimps. Nicely executed and yet interesting.
I just love the last ordered dish. the Kam Heong Buttered Crab/ A very unique taste and truly a flavoursome dish to have and slightly different from my other experiences with crab dishes. A combination of a melted buttered sauce with a touch of mild curry paste and spiked with curry leafs left this crab dish to it’s own class. One of the best sauce that goes so well with crabs. Delicious and you will not be surprised to see all the sauce wiped clean with their deep fried chinese buns. We just did that! Excellent.
