The Uma Rice
The Uma Rice

This had been my countless return back to dine at The Uma, a very appealing and authentic Balinese restaurant located at The Strand, Kota Damansara. This time I took my two ladies, my mum and aunt to dine here over a lazy weekend. It is definite a place to be when you are looking for a relaxing place with enjoying an authentic food. It had been appealing to me because of it’s unique cosy deco. A very lay back atmopshere. It remindered me of my stay at the Bali resort last year, a very pampering feeling with a touch of posh feeling. Yes it’s The Uma.

The Uma BBQ Spark RIbs
Uma’s Balinese BBQ Pork Ribs

I just love Uma’s barbeque soft spare ribs. Definitely high quality of pork ribs had been put into play. The meat texture was done perfectly soft, tender and truly juicy. Well marinated with herbs and also “kicap pekat”, Indonesian dark sweet soya sauce. The rack of pork rib was so juicely well cooked. It was so delicious. A must oreder if you dine there but be advice book the ribs first before your arrival to avoid any disappointment.

The Uma Steamed Duck
Uma’s Steamed Duck

Uma’s Steamed Duck is definitely unique, something that you don’t get to see at any eatery. The duck was so well steamed with minced finger root ginger and flovours the duck so perfectly. It was not too strong in flavour and taste as it strikes the balance, a true harmony in taste, lovely. The broth/juice was so likeable and having it with white rice can be so delectable. Perfect!

The Uma Lamb
Uma’s Balinese Curry Lamb

We had the Lamb curry and it was nice. Slightly tender and maintained a robust texture. The taste was very accurate and not hot at all. it was slightly mild and a touch of spice. Nice!

The Uma sausage
Uma’s Balinese Flavoured Homemade Sausage

We were lucky, as Uma had just recently launched a few nes dishes and we got the glimpse to try out their tasty Balinese influenced pork sausage. It was delicious and infused with Balinese taste, The sausage texture was firm and very unique in taste. My two lady guests truly enjoyed it and they found the food at Uma were truly unique and authenticly delicious . . . . . . Uma had never failed me upon of my many returns as all my guests just adored the food here, Sidney Kan

Yup…and the owner went to Balinese village to learn how to cook the cuisine. The Home made sausage are real delicious and so is the satay.
