I knew I am going to have a jolly great time dining here just upon arrival.There was this row of wooden dining terrace constructed along the pond flushed within the beautiful thick green forrest backdrop that caught my eyes. It was liked the love at the first sight.

Having the table set beside the pond can be truly romantic while at the long dining table it can be assured like having a humble feast here at Intai Intai Restaurant. Intai Intai meant peaking specialised in authentic mouth watering Thai cuisine and also a range of lovely Malay cuisine. The place was amazingly beautiful, serene and optimally relaxing definitely part of a hidden secret garden within the city. I am amazed with this discovery

INDULGING STARTS HERE

Crunchy Pamelo Salad

The “Nuansa Tradisi Ramadan 2010″ is their current Ramadan feast buffet promotion at RM48.00nett per pax and I was there to have a glimpse and taste.

For a start, I had a go with the Crunchy Pamelo Salad to go along with the deep fried stuffed crab. The pomelo was refreshing sweet in taste complimented the deep fried stuffed crab very pleasantly. The stuffing was very well seasoned and was bursting with taste when eaten with the homemade chilli sauce.

Poh Tek

Bowl of white tom yam seafood soup or Poh Tek was playing with my sense of smell and it was pungently sweet juicy aroma. It was a clear freshly prepared soup filled with loads assortment of seafood. It was good. Next to it was an interesting grill dish, a thickly sliced grilled aubergine tossed over with cooked unshelled prawns. It was a delighted salad and definitely a winner with any white rice.

Same went with the grilled beef salad, caramelised crisp on the outer and yet tender inside. It was a perfectly orchestrated dish and was really good. The taste worked very well with me.

Bursting with heavy flavour was the thick green curry cooked with lean beef cuts. It was amazing how the gravy was improvised as it was thick, tasty, mild hot and flavourful.

Here at Intai Intai the siakap Miang Kam was deep fried drizzled with finely cut lemongrass and light lime sweetened sauce. The siakap was not bad at all, it was crisply done and the sauce infused well with the siakap.

Panaing Kai

Whole chicken tights were used to prepare the Panaing Kai a red curry dish and thick coconut milk was laced over to enhance it flavours. Another old time favourite that never failed to thrill me was the pandan chicken. It was well marinated chicken piece incorporated with bursting sweet refreshing aroma of screwpine leaves.

Another worth mentioned dish was the stuffed squid with minced chicken and sweet basil cooked in Thai style caught my attention and the presentation was gorgeous. The squid was crunchy and fresh meanwhile the gravy was excellent in taste.

The prawn dish came perfectly coated with golden crisp floss and salted egg yolk. It was delicious and was one of my favourite dishes. The way the chef played with his ingredients here at Intai Intai had truly won my heart completely. Infusing freshwater prawns with yellow curry may sound normal but having it drowned with green pineapple, it was dynamite. It was astonishingly good and it was tasty.

Udang Galah Masak Lemak Bersama Nenas Muda
(Gaeng Goong Sapparod)

Yellow Curry Paste
Ingredients
15nos Bird Eye Chillies
5nos Red Chillies
8nos Shallots
3cloves Garlic
½ inch length Galangal
½ inch length Fresh Turmeric
2stalks Lemongrass
20gm Shrimp Paste (lightly toast)
1nos Kaffir Lime (use the skin)

Method
1. Blend all ingredients into yellow curry paste

Ingredients
500 gm Udang Galah / Freshwater or Tiger Prawn
1no medium Green Pineapple (peeled and half slice)
2tbsp Vegetable Oil
3tbsp Yellow Curry Paste
2cups Fresh Coconut Milk (cream can be used to replace coconut milk but you will not get the coconut aroma in your curry)
1cup Water
2tbsp Fish Sauce
2tsp Palm Sugar
A pinch of salt, seasoning

Method
1. Clean Freshwater Prawns and cut the backside of the prawn – remove the black stripe
2. Using a sauce pan or a deep frying pan, heat up the vegetable oil until hot and add the yellow curry paste to the oil.
3. Use a medium heat and take care not to burn the curry paste. Should the paste become lumpy and become difficult to spread and stir fry, add a little coconut milk.
4. Cook the paste for 5 minutes over a low to medium heat.
5. Add coconut milk and blend well. Add some water. Bring the curry back to a boil.
6. Once the curry is boiling, add the Freshwater Prawn and season the curry with fish sauce, salt and palm sugar.
7. When the Freshwater Prawns are almost cooked, add the pineapple and mix well. Cook for about 5 minutes on a medium heat.
8. The curry should be fairly thick.
9. Spoon this curry into a bowl and serve with hot streamed rice.

A simple gorgeous Chinese vegetable stir fried was the four heavenly king and was beautifully presented. Surprisingly the chef did a great job and so was the seafood fried rice, it was full of “Wok Hei”, truly fragantly fried.

    thank you for sharing this to us^^ I see there are a lot of nice food in this buffet.. All the pictures are very nice.. Really would like to have buffet at there too.. By the way, the Sticky Mango Rice looking tasty as well, like this very much..

    Pergi berbuka puasa di Intai2 smlm (2-Sep-2010) bersama-sama bdk2 office.. so adalah dlm 6 meja kitorang book…
    Lastly upset sbb mcm tak berbaloi jerk dgn harganya RM48/pax… Makanan habis tak di refill… Kambing panggang lambat start masak so by the time org berbuka puasa, org still beratur menunggu kambing masak.. then separuh jerk… then kesian plak tgk pekejra yg in charge kambing tuh… dia sorg jerk… dia la tukan gpotong, dia lah tukang bg ke pelanggan, dia lah juga g ambik arang… hahahaha… letak la sekor trus masak.. tak kan la nak untung lebih kot…

    MMG TAK BERBALOI LA…. GAMBAR LAWA LA tp at real place makanan yg habis tidak di refill semula… kelakar la… Tempat menarik tp sayang dgn management yg maybe nak untung sgt…

    Excellent choice of dishes! Pandan Chicken and Seafood Fried Rice look really delicious. Yummy!
