Chinese New Year Celebration Mandarin Palace Restaurant The Federal

THE SPREAD OF DIM SUM

Federal Hotel 5

This time I was back for a Dim Sum pleasure and it was the most interesting and exciting. The style was the same, it was a very authentic feel, just felt myself being a King dining here, golden wood craving surroundings spoke by itself and along with a spread of delicious Dim Sum. The Chefs themselves also had prepared a spread of Chinese New Year ala carte Dim Sum Menu with a total of 13 variation.

Federal Hotel 9

I was raving about this one, I had a Shark’s Fin Dumpling Soup which was just amazing wonderful. The soup itself spoke on how talented the chef himself able to created such an amazing taste with pleasure, dumpling was filled with strings of shark’s fins. At RM19.90++ it is defintely a must have over this Chinese New Year.

Steamed Fresh Scallop was perfect on that morning tea that came with soft transparent skin and delicious fillings.

Federal Hotel 11

The “Siew Mai” or Pork Dumpling was very good to my liking, everytime when I indulge a Dim Sum session, the first thing I will order is the one, “Siew Mai” and if the “Siew Mai” is good that means any Dim Sum comes with pork fillings , it will definitely be good. Just my 2 cents! :)

Federal Hotel 12

“Har Gau”or prawn Dumpling was tasty too, I like it a lot too! Nice and perfect to my liking.

Federal Hotel 10

The “Char Siew Bao” skin was white and fluffy infused with delicious sweet “Char Siew” fillings, awesome taste, pure indulgence.

Federal Hotel 8

The “Loh Mai Kai” was great, perfect in taste and the fillings was superb but I alway prefer my glutinious rice not to soft and in full grain rather than sticky.

Federal Hotel 6

The fish paste porridge was excellent, one of the best in town and this soft silky porridge was the making of three type of rice grains, I just love it! The fish paste was excellent, very fresh and with a great texture.

Federal Hotel 7

Then came this exciting mix platter of roast duck, “Char Siew” /sweet BBQ pork and “Siew Yok”/roasted pork, thye were very adoreable. Roasted poerk was excellent and the skin was crspy, “BBQ pork was excellent and the roast duck was lovely, definitely recommended if you dine at this restaurant.

By the end of the meal I was so full, it was an excellent place to be and i have enjoyed myself with it’s excellent Dim Sum and serving . . . . . . . . I am still eating again and also trying to master my new D90 camera, Sidney! ;)
