Chinese New Year Celebration Grand Imperial Bangsar Shopping Centre BSC

Grand Imperial Stir Fired Seafood

Sauteed Fresh Pacific Clam with Seasonal Greens in XO Sauce was amazingly sexy to me. I just love the texture of the clams and taste very different from those I got from a can. The texture was exciting and the XO sauce complimented the whole dish so well that it ended with a kick! nice! :)

Grand Imperial Steamed Giant Garoupa 1

I had giant garupa before when I visited Kota Kinabalu, Sabah but seldom encounter of such in Kuala Lumpur but I had tasted some that evening. The dish was Steamed Giant Garoupa Fish with Black Bean and Garlic, it was delicious and yet simple just black bean and garlic definitely the garoupa fish was at top tip fresh. I just love having to indulge into the layer of jelly texture of the fish itself, only can be encounter when the fish is huge. The fish texture was excellent and the sauce created through the steaming process benifited the dish so well and enhanced the dish to a superb level! my type of dish! It was my evening. :)

Grand Imperial Roast Piglet

Next was to indulge the Whole Roasted Suckling Piglet, I was in silent while indulging the taste of a piece of smoked roasted piglet, it was really good, it was very fragrant and refined in taste, marvellous crispy, very enjoyable over a warm cup of Chinese brewed tea.

Grand Imperial Pork Trotter

Stew Pig Trotter with Black Pepper Sauce was very excellent, I just lovely it, the trotter was braised to the right texture, it was soft and moist. The black pepper gave some body texture to the dish and it tasted slightly different from the usual.

Grand Imperial Brtaised Chinese Mushroom

Braised Mushroom with Dried Oyster and ‘Fatt Choy’ is a must have on every dining table during the Chinese New Year in hoping to bring wealth and luck through out the year. It was excellent and perfect right for the occasion.

Grand Imperial Waxed Meat Rice

I have eaten a few Chinese New Year rice dishes and that eveing it was done techincally different. The assorted waxed meat was done seperated, steamed to perfection while the rice was boiled to cooked in the claypot. When ready to serve, the assorted waxed meat will be placed on top of the cooked claypot rice, interesting, The taste was superbly good, interesting.

I always looking forward to the Chinese dessert, good restaurant always served fantastic desserts, here we had delicious soft smoothed pan fried “Nian Gao”, it was not too sweet either. I was told that Grand Imperial made their own “Nian Gao” in order to control the sweetness. The other half of the platter was filled with Lotus Paste Pastries, it was soft and nice, just love those delicious pastry.
