THE WOK CAFE Penang Hawker Food & Nyonya Cuisine – Kota Damansara Best

A GLIMPSE OFTHE NYONYA CUISINE

The Wok Cafe 11
Lobak is the type of dish that you will defintely adore and enjoy most as it is make of small chunck of lean pork maarinated in 5 spice powder, rolled over a thin soya bean skin and then deep fried till gokden brown. This delicious lobak is served with delicious chilli sauce and dark thicken sauce. Lobak is definetly a very authentic typical nyonya dish inherited down from generation to generation, a must have dish when having a nyonya meal.

The Wok Cafe 13
This dish called Joo Hoo Char or fried matchstick yam bean served over lettuce is another typical delicious nyonya food that is a must have. This dish reminds me of my mum’s cooking, she love preparing this dish and I just love teething into those dried octpus floss. Wok Cafe had it done perfectly to my liking and I alway make sure the present of the nice hot sambal!

The Wok Cafe 14
This dish called Hong Bok prepared at Wok Cafe was spot on. I truly enjoyed the aroma of the present of cinnamon, the creamy texture of the sauce and the tenderness of the braised pork. Perfect!

The Wok Cafe 16
Pan Fried Tamarind or Assam Prawns was done just the way I would do it myself, dry, soury sweet and full of amazing flavour. Never regret of indulging it.

The Wok Cafe 15
I always hate preparing this dish called Perut Ikan at home, just take too much of my time to prepare it. I rather buy them or eat it at the restaurant. Wok’s Ikan Perut was a bit soupy as I prefer mine done more intensify but still not too bad.

The Wok Cafe 17
“KIm Chai Arp Soup” or Pickled Vegetable Duck soup tasted good, something I would make at home if I had the time :) So if I don’t have time, I will just seek Wok to satisfy my desire with a good joyly bowl of duck soup! Mum wouldn’t mind.
