Rouleau Chocolat au Banane

When I saw this rouleau chocolat au banane featured in one of the japanese baking magazine, I couldn’t take it out off my mind. Rouleau means roll, therefore in the baking world means roll cakes or swissroll. The rouleau I saw was a chocolate swissroll cake that comes with whole banana and chocolate cream. Gosh, this rouleau must be good.

I kept dreaming about it every night, salivating in front of this rouleau but only from far, having a touch was impossible. The rouleau was dressed up so beautifully and attractive waiting to be eaten. Suddenly I was awaken from this dream. Gosh, I was so upset that I decided to baked this rouleau according to my dream! Why not as I got most of the ingredients in the studio.

Here is my rouleau, baked a japanese light chocolate cake sponge and damped the surface of the cake with Monin’s Hazelnut Syrup. Whipped up some dark chocolate cream and got some ripe bananas ready. Spread the chocolate cream onto the cake sponge, placed the bananas at the end of one corner and start rolling. Once completed the rolling I had it sliced to the desire thickness and decorated with some melted chocolate and white chocolate pieces.

A dream came true to enjoy . . . Love Sunny Yaw

That is lovely. I would love that very much. Am also trying to think of what to bake with my bananas, and thinking along the lines of choc banana cupcakes. :) They always go so well together.
